When my parents finally reached the state I didn't want to ever go back to I sighted the house immediately. It was a plain white farm house on deserted plains with a few trees around it, the house wasn't big nor small but it wasn't something much to look at either. Heck it still beats the hospital though.

"You like it? "

I glanced at my father whose eyes were on mine as he stared at the car's mirror, I gave a tight lipped smile, and nodded which made my mother sighed in relief.

I immediately clipped off the stupid seatbelt off me, as I watched my parents hurriedly got out the vehicle, and soon afterwards I was out the car to follow them as they headed up the pathway towards the small house I never called home.

I looked around the houses that were across from the one my parents lived in, I could feel stares on me, and it honestly made me a bit nervous. It's not everyday someone comes home from the pyshward, so I knew rumors of how crazy I must be had gone around.

"Don't mind them, sweety, " I looked at my mother when she said that with a simple smile, but the words did nothing to stop the frown that formed on my face.

I only nod while stepping up on the brownstone staircase of the house, soon I walked up on the last step which was the same time my father unlocked the white door opened, and stepped in. I wordlessly followed suit.

The modest house's beige walls were squared around the area of the spacious living room, there was one simple brown couch in the center of the room, and a small coffee table in front of it. There were lit candles on the countertops from exposed kitchen behind the livingroom that provided lightening, but what surprised me was the amount of toys on the carpeted floor.

"Oh, those are Kyle's," My father stated when he noticed my eyes on the items, I swallowed the shit I wanted to say, and only nodded, "Your brother."

"Oh."

I mumbled lost for words while I walked through the opened doorway,
I watched as my parents hung up their coats on the hanger near the door, and felt as if I made a mistake
of ever wanting to come back to them. It didn't feel like much of a home here, but I had to give it a
shot. It beats the hospital.

"So...?" I started to say which made them turn around to look at me whilr I stood with my arms across my chest, "Where's this brother?"

My parents smiled at that as if it were nice that this would be my first time meeting the kid, but I didn't share their smile. I wasn't happy at all about this.

"Let's see your room fir--"

"No," I interrupted which raised their eyebrows, I hadn't seen this kid since the day he was born, and I wanted to be a big sister now, "I want to see him first."

I watched as my father sighed in defeat while running a hand through his greying kink of locks, his tired eyes closed behind his round glasses, and he pinched the edge of his nose before nodding which made me smile.

My mother on the other hand only shook her head which made her kinky locks shake, as her dark chocolatey skinned face held a scowl, and she finally muttered, "Fine."

That's when we all walked off from the livingroom towards a narrow doorway which led to a small hall, I looked at the closed doors as we walked past with curiosity, before we finally stopped in front of a door that held a huge Spider-Man figure on the doorframe.

Hopefully he wasn't a brat.

I watched as my mother pushed the dooropen which in turn made my mouth fall open as well, because the second my eyes met two large light brown ones I knew had to protect this little guy with my life.
