Chapter III (3)
Lilly and Minty were both kicked out of the nurses office for seventh hour, much to their displeasure. The nurse is pretty cool too.
Her name is Robin, and she likes soccer! So me and her talk about soccer for most of the time I'm there. I also invited her to come play with me one day, but she had to respectful decline that offer.
When the final bell rang I really wasn't looking forward to the questions I was sure to face when I got home.
"Bye Robin! Nice to meet you." I call to Robin as I walk out of the nurses office.
"Bye! Feel better soon!" Robin yells after me. Oh, and did I forget to mention? My glasses are broken. Which sucks, because now I look even nerdier with the tape on them.
"Chris! How are you feeling?" Lilly asks running up to me.
"Fine, a little drowsy, thanks to those pills." I answer with a yawn. Lilly chuckles and hands me my bag. "How'd yo-"
"Felix told me the combination, from when he helped you find your locker this morning." Lilly explains herding me out of the building.
"Oh, thanks." I smile at her before looking for Mum's mini van. I don't find it, but I do find Drake's Toyota. "I'm screwed."
"Why?" Lilly asks stopping next to me.
"Him, that's why." I groan motioning to Drake. Who is standing outside of his car with girls fawning over him.
Me and my brothers look nothing a like. They all have mum's black curly hair, and high cheek bones. I look like the father I never got to meet.
We only share eye color, blue eyes, but mine are more on the grey side.
"He is yummy." Lilly purrs besides me.
"Gross! That's my brother dimwit!" I yell hitting the back of her head.
"Sorry!" Lilly laughs beside me. I roll my eyes and walk over to Drake, pushing some people out of the way.
"Chris. Whoa! What happened to your face?" Drake yells pushing Dayna off of him.
"She can't play dodge ball is what happened." Dayna huffs.
"No, I can play. It's just some people don't like nerds." I shrug and walk over to Drake's awaiting arms.
"Who ever did that is going to get hell to pay." Drake hisses in my ear. I tighten my grip on him and shake my head.
"It was an accident." I whisper back.
"Accident my ass." Drake growls. I laugh and pull away from him.
"Just get me home." I answer with a don't-test-me look.
"Fine, fine! Don't go demon on me!" Drake says raising his hands in a friendly gesture. I roll my eyes and get into the passenger seat. Drake is quick to get into the drivers side.
I look out just in time to see Minty's eyes latched on mine. I send him a small smile as Drake drives out of the parking lot. I turn back to Drake.
"Why isn't mum picking me up?" I ask him, curiously.
"Noah got into a fight, some dumbass was picking on Joseph." Drake explains speeding through a yellow light.
"Mhmm. I guess getting picked on runs in the family." I muse sending a smile to Drake. He looks at me sadly.
"Maybe I should go to your school. You know, keep them away from you." Drake almost pleads. I shake my head as he turns into our street.
"Is soccer still on for tomorrow?" I ask as Drake slows down the car.
