Unexpected Night

Jenna's P.O.V
"Hey Jenna,"

"Hey Elijah,"

"Can i just say you look amazing tonight!"

"You scrub up pretty well too you know."

I wink and we both giggle.

"Come on you two we have a party to get too!"

Wow. Elijah said those words. I feel my heart start to fasten its pace. My stomach feels like it is about to burst and a million butterflies will come flying out. We all jump in Jacks car, Tyler's up front flirting with Jack of course and Elijah and I are riding in the back. I stare out the window looking at the moon. When i was little I used to always think that the moon followed our car. Now I'm older and a bit more mature I've realised it is just perspective. Everything looks beautiful in this light, including Elijah.

As soon as we pull up at Jack's I immediately notice that nothing has changed since I was here last. The grass still overgrown and the fence could still use a coat of paint and there may have once been a garden but not anymore. I feel like a bottle of bubbly champagne at a outback wild and west party.

All the couples are glued to each other like penguins huddled in a snowstorm. Elijah grabs my hand as we walk down the path together, I cant help but smile. The music is pumping and all I want to do is dance. To have Elijah hold me in his arms as we slow dance and stare into each others eyes. Just before we reach the door Elijah pulls me too the side of the house. Tyler turns back and gives me an odd look I nod to let her know its ok.

"Jenna, I know I said I would stay with you all night but.."

"ARE YOU SERIOUS ELIJAH! I knew there would be some sort of catch I cant believe I thought you actually wanted to go to this party with me. I'm so done!"

Fuck I'm so pissed right now I can't believe Elijah actually used me. I'm such a fuck up. I start to head home, I'll text Tyler in the morning I don't want to ruin her night with Jack.

"Jenna wait!"

"Just leave me alone."

No matter how hard I try I cant help but break out in tears. I jolt back when something tight grabs my wrist. Before I can even try to get out of it's hold a pair of lips meet mine. I feel fireworks go off inside me. It feels like new years eve, magical.

"I'm sorry. I was going to say that I couldn't stay with you all night because I have a curfew at 11."

"I'm such an idiot, how can you even look at me, I have makeup all down my face and I'm barefoot because my feet already have blisters from my heels and.."

"Shhh."

He pushes my hair behind my ear and strokes my cheek.

"Let's go."

"Where?!" I ask.

"Surprise."

Elijah takes me to this small lake on the other side of town. I never even knew it exist. We sit on the grass just enjoying each others company.

"Hey Elijah, can i tell you something?"

"Sure."

"Well for awhile now I've liked someone..."

I stop talking and start noticing a huge smile spread across Elijah's face.

"What is it?" I ask Intrigued.

"Well a little birdie told me who you like not long ago."

"Tyler?"

"Yeah, please don't hate me I think its cute you have a crush on me."

I can feel my cheeks going red, I just stare down at my hands hoping Elijah wont notice.

"I couldn't ever hate you."

Buzz buzzz, *incoming call from Tyler*
I automatically decline and then i see my lock screen. 11:25.

"Shit Elijah your curfew!"

"Dont worry about it, theres no place I'd rather be right now."

Elijah takes my hand in his and we intwine our fingers together. I rest my head on his shoulder and think for a little while. This night didn't go exactly to plan but I did get to wear a beautiful outfit and spend it with the one I love and that truly is amazing. How did I even get this lucky.
