Secret Model: 11
I was speechless. No words were able to make it out past my lips. Dustin was standing in front of me, leaning against the locker with a slightly nervous and concerned expression clouding his features.
"So...?" he trailed off uncertainly.
"Um...I dunno," I say.
Dustin took a deep breath before emerging himself into a long speech. "I still like you...a lot. I-I-I might even...l-love you-"
I curtly cut him off and said, "Stop. Stop right there!"
"But I do-!"
"No! Not after what you did to me!" I was nearly at breaking point. Tear were threatening to spill over but I kept them back. There wasn't any point in crying over him.
"Look! I'm sorry-!"
"I'm sure you are," I say half sarcastically. "But what you did was well..."
"I know..." he said, a regretful look on his face.
We were both starting to get strange looks from students that were passing by. My eye caught a glimpse of a figure obscured behind the corner of the hallway. When I looked closer, I saw it was, Nathan leaning up against a locker with a pair of earbuds stuck into his ears.
"It wasn't meant to happen at all,"
I shot him a look and sarcastically said, "Yeah, that whole bimbo scenario was so not meant to happen!"
"Look! What happened between, Stacy and me...! It was nothing! Nothing!" he almost said, almost shouting.
"Whatever. I don't care anymore and I'm over it so just leave me alone and-"
Dustin shot me a wistful look and said, "You just don't get it do you? I freakin' love you! And this time no hesitation! I'm being serious!"
My heart dropped a little. He did look serious. He was serious. But I don't think I can take him seriously. After what he did... Never again will I fall into his net. Ever.
"I don't think this can happen ever again okay? You and I... It's not going to happen," I say calmly.
In a blink of an eye, I was turned around and walked away from, Dustin. What really hurt me was the fact that, Dustin would even consider crawling back on his knees. Did he really think I would accept and forgive him so easily? Did he really think I would even consider forgiving him after what he did on that fateful night? What cut me even deeper was that he was sincere.

"Hey Mum, I'm going to meet up with, Dustin at Lauren's so I won't be back for dinner,"
My mother smiled at me from behind the cooking counter and waved me off to go. I bade her a goodbye before shrugging on my thick, heart printed cardigan and disappearing out the door.
Dustin said he had a surprise. I don't remember anything special that related to this day but if it's a surprise, it's a surprise. Dustin wasn't usually all about being spontaneous but if he's planning something that included the word 'surprise' in it then it must be important.
"Hey, Eldridge! Dustin's in the back," greeted, Henry, one of the busboys.
"Thanks, Henry,"
The cosy, inviting warmth of the rattling heaters that were stashed away behind a couple of booths enveloped me in a big, warm hug. My insides were getting giddy with excitement. Why would, Dustin be surprising me? Like I said, there wasn't anything special about this day.
