I woke up to a moment hearing every single troop with me in the warehouse panicking, hovering from one place to another. There were other soldiers outside the window handing out weapons whose expressions like that of an owl's, surprised by some event they hadn't seen before. I only then realized the constant gunshots filling in the background ambiance of the waterfall outside; "They're here" is what I thought. Despite the chaos and gate-busting outside, I just stood up and got myself a glass of water as if there wasn't a tiny bit of a problem. Most probably, I already got used to the loud sound of people's cries and troops falling back and forth to defend the rest. Therefore, acting like it was nothing kind of freaked my so-called 'pals' out.
"Oh, they're here? Nice." I said and chugged what's in my drink followed by a sarcastic chuckle escaping my wet lips. "No wonder everybody's making such a fuss. The late Hitler's A-team arrived."
"They're coming. Their spies spotted the hideout and we need to get ready." Reuel answered and filled his rifle with ammo, not minding my shittiest of response towards them. That got me realizing what had happened back there at the river by the moment I heard heartbeats — we did get followed. I wasn't paying that much attention and kind of felt bad at the thought that maybe they did something to Manang Mayana. If my hunches were true, I could only blame myself for it.
"Ahh, so that's what happened." Followed by a despicably annoying sarcasm, purposely pissing their sissy commander off, "Oh my god! Did you see that, Effie? Oh no, how am I supposed to return back now? Who's gonna save my shitty ass who only got off of the HQ 'cause she's fucking bored?" The last line turned out like I chug-jugged seven vials of testosterone.
"Goddamn you bitch, just your voice irritates my ears! Don't react like you did nothing. You are the reason they have spotted us down here. If you just listened to what we told you, we wouldn't be at stake!" Efren spoke heavily, popping a nerve (metaphorically) in his head. "There's even a report of the spies who followed you and that lunatic all the way here last night. Do you have anything better to do besides fucking things up? And please, for the last time, shut your bitch-ass mouth, will you?"
"Wait, what the fuck?! EXCUSE ME?!" I retorted in the sassiest way possible, appearing a little defensive though returning the blame towards them. After all, they should be the one to blame because they hid here like it's fucking Christmas in New York City. "Our lives were at stake since they entered this circus! Don't blame it all on me. You, too, got flaws on your no good commands. You're getting all of us killed back there and you fuckers just hide all the way down here?" I replied back and got myself a glass of water again. "Now, explain to me why you dickheads kept us at that wretched place, huh? Come on babe, the queen is waiting."
I didn't get a reasonable response from any of them besides those sour-looking stares like I'm Jesus or something. Great!
Standing at the door with Celeste, the woman soldier, handed me a pistol with a silencer: for the cool stuff I'd brag about. "Here bitch. This might save your ass today, since you literally wanna be the underdog."
"BEHIND THE HEDGES!! 2 O'CLOCK!" I heard one of the troops yelling at the other, pointing which target they're supposed to shoot. Rifles shared their noises in the crappy and the somewhat historical feel lingering in the air. Never have I felt to be in a sort of action movie that Steven Seagal would star in.
As I was about to drink, a grenade launcher suddenly fired its way towards the eastern part of the average warehouse, just five meters away from me. In all cases, I'd probably fly across the area I'm in, which I did since the explosion was that big. The rest even shared their 'ouches and oofs' after getting smashed to the concrete wall.
"Fuck! Take cover!" Jershua, their medic, yelled whose face and past behaviour I wouldn't care much about. He's a dick like his best buddy, Efren. In fact, I even ship them to be in a doujin adaptation of their inexplicable relationship.
