BROOKE'S POV
I knocked on the oh so familiar door, excitement growing with each passing second. Austin was waiting in the drive way in the rental car, waiting until I got in the house. I hear the sound of 8 feet pound against the floor. The door swings open and I'm immediately engulfed in a hug. I send a wave back to Austin and they pull me inside.
"Brooke oh my god never leave!"
"Are you taller already?"
"Ryan she's always been taller than you, OW!" I chuckle.
"I defiantly missed this" I sigh.
"Come to the kitchen look what we made!" They shove me into a chair and thrust something in my direction. They stand there, arms pulled behind their backs and grins on their faces.
"We worked all day on it" Jared says, smile growing and I look down. Before me is a cake. the tiers sliding off the other, icing glopped on, and illegible handwriting scribbled out what I think said 'Welcome Home Bubbles'. A smile makes its way back on my face as I look up at my four best friends.
"Do you like it?" Shane pipes up.
"I love it" they all cheer.
We played hockey and video games for most of the day. I caught up with Jared's mum and sister who I had adopted as my own while I was in the home. Brody and Ryan had to leave so that left Shane, Jared and myself laying in his basement talking.
"So what are your new friends like?" Shane asked.
"They're really rad, y'all would love them. Rian is quiet and smart as is Zack. Lisa, Emilee, and Cas are cuties. They're Alex, Zach, and Rian's girlfriend's. Last but not least Alex and Jack, basically brothers really crazy energetic like me when you get to know me, y'all know that side."
"All too well" Shane says laughing again.
"So what else do you do there?"
"Not much I start school next year. I have friends going into it so that's good. I have a dog named Suki, here's a picture of him." I show them the picture of Austin, Papaw, Suki, and me that one of the house ladies took.
"Awe he's so cute. you'll have to bring him next time to meet Cooper." Cooper is Jared's dog. he's a shiatsu, cute as a button. He doesn't bark either which is what I like. My phone lights up with a text from Austin.
"Y'all wanna go to the bus?" I ask hopeful.
"Sure we've got nothing better to do." They smile. The whole car ride was filled with laughs and stories.
"Okay welcome to bus de Of Mice & Men. This is the kitchen and front lounge. Over here is the bunks. That one is mine." I point up to my bunk with a smile. "Back here is the back lounge where I keep Cesar and Skellington"
"Awe turtles!" We take them out and play with them for a while before Joe and Patrick from Fall Out Boy come into the back lounge.
"Hey! Shane, Jared, this is Joe and Patrick from Fall Out Boy. Joe, Patrick, this is Jared and Shane two of my best friends." They exchange hello's and turn to me.
"Everyone is ordering pizzas, any special toppings?" Joe asks me. I shake my head looking to the guys, they're doing the same thing.
"Right then. No shows tonight and your dad says to tell you everyone is staying on a different bus tonight so you can have a sleepover. See you guys later! Nice meeting you!" Patrick says.
"Likewise" They shake hands and walk out of the lounge.
"We'll call up Ryan and Brody then yea?"
3 Hour Later
Brody and Ryan came and now we where watching DJango Unchained. I was texting Jack and he said they were going to hockey for the school team. I wished them a good luck before clicking off my phone.
"Who was thattttt?" Jared asks poking my side. I squirm and laugh.
"Jack."
"Ohh just Jack? Not Jack heart heart kissy face emoji heart eye emoji?" I look at him with an eyebrow raised and pink cheeks.
"What are you talking about?" I shoot him a confused glance. By now no one is paying attention to what's going on the screen.
"His contact name, duh." He says rolling his eyes. I quickly scramble for my phone, unlocking it and click on Jack's contact. Sure enough, that's what it is.
"HE PUT THAT IN I SWEAR!" I exclaim.
"Yea sure bubbles." Ryan shakes his head.
"Guys I promise."
"Okay okay, I GUESS we'll believe you, for now." Brody says turning his attention back to the screen. Oh boy.
JACK'S POV
I was texting Brooke up till pep talk time. No girls are on this team either so it will be just her next year. The team we're playing, The Avalanche, they're pretty good and they are our rivals so lots of people are going to show, especially because it's a Varsity game. We hit the ice and do our regular warm ups and everything and then the game begins. Alex and I are starting along with our centering partner JP and the two defensemen Paul and Max. We take our positions and the puck drops. We win the face off and race down the ice towards the other goal. Max makes a quick pass to Alex, who gives it to me. I back hand it into the net and the crowd goes crazy. The girl I loaned my jersey to is blowing kisses at me. Her name is Rebecca. She's a nice girl and everything don't get me wrong, but I don't like her. Alex made me give my jersey to her because she's friends with Lisa. I turn away and my line jumps on me. We skate down the line bumping the team before returning to the circle for another face off.
The game ends and it's a 5-2 Victory for us. A fight broke out, nothing major like a bench clearer but it sent 4 players packing. On from our team who was only defending himself and the rest from The Avalanche. We get a talk from coach congratulating us and telling us some small areas we need to improve that we'll go over in practice, before I get undressed. I put on my dress shirt and tie back on. I throw on my windbreaker and my other dress clothes and head out of the locker room with Alex. Lisa catches up to us and give Alex a kiss, telling him he did a great job. Alex scored too, assisted by me of coarse. Rebecca trails behind her, coming up to me.
"You did a great job tonight." She says giggling and putting a hand on my chest.
"Uh ha, um thanks, can I have my jersey back?" I ask. She's still got it on.
"Oh yea, I hope you don't mind that I sprayed perfume on it. It didn't smell good."
"Well obviously it wouldn't smell good" I resort, angry she sprayed my baby with her horrible smelling perfume. I'd have to wash it now and I hate washing it, bad luck. I only wash it when I absolutely HAVE to. She rolls her eyes and hand me the jersey.
"Are you coming to my party tonight?" She asks twirling a piece of her hair.
"Jack bus is here." Alex says, thank you!
"Uh no, bye." I say quickly, pushing past her and walking to the bus. I turn to Alex.
"NEVER again, and you so owe me." He laughs and we climb on to the bus. Thank God that's over.
