Taya woke up because of the sun rays hitting her face. She remembered that she was in Casey's house. This was where she had spent countless nights playing Xbox with Casey and binging on The Office all night. This was where she and Casey had slept on the couch while gossiping. She sighed happily.
She looked at the clock on her right and saw that the time was six in the morning. The flight left at nine. She got up and ran into Casey's bedroom without knocking. She lightly shook Casey awake, "Get up sleepyhead, we are going to Mexico." Casey smiled and went to the bathroom. Taya looked into Casey's cupboard. She grabbed a blue cardigan, a white top and a pair of black leggings. She and Casey were the same size.
She removed her clothing and wore the new ones, feeling better immediately. Casey came out, her blonde hair falling loosely around her shoulders and she was wearing a yellow sundress. She looked positively cute. "Let's go!" She exclaimed, her light blue eyes shining.
Taya smiled, "Good morning, you look like a sunrise." Casey flipped her hair, "That was the look I was going for."They left the house and hailed a cab to the hospital. Matt was in the room, his hair falling in his eyes. He looked at Taya angrily, "Where were you? I searched for you everywhere in the hospital." He turned towards Casey and added venomously, "Who have you brought here?" Taya crossed her arms in front of her chest. "This is my best friend, Casey. And she is coming with me." She stated defiantly.
"What do you mean? You can't just bring anybody with you. Even if it is your friend. She doesn't even know where we are going and why. How is she so ready to go anywhere with you?" He looked at Taya and the realization slowly dawned upon him, "You told her, didn't you? How could you? Did you ask me?" She looked at him dead in the eye, "You are not my manager. I don't have to ask YOU for anything. I can do whatever I want."
Matt raised his eyes heavenward, "What will I do with you?" She scowled, "YOU have to take ME and Casey to Mexico. That's all.""Now that you have told her, I have no other choice. We'll see what do with her." He pointedly glanced at Casey. "Whoa, back up there Mr. Hot and Angry, what do you mean, 'what to do with her'?" Casey said, making air quotes.
Matt ignored her and walked out of the hospital and jumped into the jeep. Casey rolled her eyes behind his back and Taya shrugged apologetically at her.
They got into the backseat and he started driving towards the airport. Taya and Casey had whispered conversations and hummed with the radio.
When they finally reached the airport, Casey looked like she was going to have a heart attack. "What happened?" Taya asked worriedly. Casey frowned, "I was going to meet my mom today. I didn't even tell her I was leaving. I'll call her right now."Casey quickly dialed her mother's number and spoke quietly into it, "Hey mom. I met Taya yesterday and we are going on a girl's vacay right now." She paused, "Yes." Another pause. "No. Ok. Thanks. Bye. Love you!" She cut the call with a triumphant look.
Matt raised an eyebrow at her but Taya already knew what had happened so she just high-fived her and they walked towards their terminal. Casey's mom was a person who was so forgetful that she even forgot her own daughter's name. Casey kept switching jobs, so she didn't really need to call up any boss. She just needed to inform her mother and she could go anywhere.
Once they were on the flight, Taya spoke up, "Case, when you said Carlos was a snob, what did you mean?" Casey giggled, "He was very annoying. He was rude and very possessive about his items. He never let me even see his watch. He kept checking out other girls and compared them with me. So, I dumped his ass on the first day of vacation." Taya rolled her eyes, "Poor bastard."
