Chapter 6 - Thorns In Our Side

Coal's POV:

I walk through the dorms with a disguise Neo on my shoulders and Cinder along with her cronies following behind me. As we're about to get to my dorm Ruby runs out and collides with Emerald.

Ruby: Ow! Oh, sorry I was in a hurry.

Emerald: It's okay, just watch where your going next time.

Ruby: So are you new here, I haven't seen you around?

Coal: There visiting form Haven. This is my girlfriend's team, this is my girlfriend Neopolitan. The one you bumped in to is Emerald, the emo looking guy is Mercury, and the raven haired girl is Cinder.

Ruby: Oh it's nice to meet you all. Is Coal giving you a tour of Beacon?

Cinder: Yes he is, he was just showing us where his dorm was.

Ruby: That's good..... Oh! I have to go!

Ruby runs off with Emerald glaring at her and Murcury not paying her much attention. Cinder only looking on in amusement.

[Time Skip]

I am currently watching Roman presenting to the White Fang from the rafters of the warehouse. As he goes over the operation and reveals the paladin I notice a black haired cat faunus and a blonde monkey faunus. Blake and Sun. Roman notices them as well. Blake then shoots out the lights. They brake out a window and run, Roman following after them in the paladin. I hop down to find Neo in a daze. I walk up to her and put my hand on her shoulder to help her steady herself.

Coal: You okay Neo?

She nods and walks over to the hole the paladin made in the wall. I follow and look out at the destruction the chase made. Me and Neo follow the trail for awhile. When we come to an overpass over looking down to a battle Roman was about to lose. Yang was launched at the paladin, destroying it in one hit. Roman wipes off his white suit and I appear from his shadow. Yang charges us as Neo drops down and blocks it.

Coal: WHy thANk You my LOvE. be A deAR ANd geT ROman Out oF HEre. (She nods and disappears taking Roman with her) NOW Let's SEe WhAt yOU GoT.

I fire multiple shadows at the girls at once, most of them hitting the group. I then charge them summoning a shadow blade as I do. Blake tries to block it but the blade fazes through and hits her, throwing her back. Ruby shoots at me, I just summon a wall of shadows to absorb the shots. As I'm doing this I throw my shadow blade at Yang, it explodes as it hits her.

I then summon a shadow scythe and go after Weiss. She dodges my strikes until I'm able to hit her with the but end of the scythe. The hit throws her back as Ruby charges me with her semblance. Before she gets to me I trip her with with shadows. The shadows binding her as she falls. Yang then explodes and charges me. Weiss then freezes my feet to the ground.

So I let Yang hit me. The punch brakes me from the ice and launches me away a little. That hurt more then I thought it would. I stand up slowly, putting a hand on my mask. Only to find it somewhat cracked.

Coal: ALl thAt FOr A CRAckeD MAsk... WELL i muSt sAY THat'S MoRE DamAGe thEN I ThoUghT I'D GeT.

I snap my fingers, summoning beowolf shadows to attack them. I then turn around and start walking away. I here a bang and let the bullet hit my shoulder. I look back to see Ruby aiming Crescent Rose at me. Her team keeping the beowolves off her. Guess I'll give them a little scare. I hold up my hand in a choking motion, shadows wrapping around Ruby's neck.

Coal: MAybE i sHOUld kILL yoU.

I clench my hand, tightening the shadows around her neck and picking her up off the ground. I then hear the sirens of police cars approaching. Time to leave I suppose. I reals Ruby and start sinking into my shadow.

Coal: DoN'T TRy tHiS AGaiN.

After saying that I fully sink into my shadow. I appear in my and Neo's room to find her sitting at her desk. I put my mask on my desk whale Neo walks up to me. I wrap my arms around her and lean down. She stands on her toes and wraps her arms around my neck. As we bring our lips together we are consumed by shadows. When we pull apart we're in her dorm. I peck her lips once more before letting her go and walking to the door.

Coal: Goodnight my little ice cream demon.

Ozpin's POV:

As I review all the footage we have of the Shadow I notice something. He's in control. Even when someone gets a hit on him he barely reacts. Like he's letting them hit him and with the power he's displayed it's all the more likely. The elevator dings and Glynda walks out.

Glynda: This Shadow is becoming more of a problem every time he shows him self.

Ozpin: Very. Have you found any thing on his background?

Glynda: No, it's like he was never existed.

I sigh and look back at the footage. I hope this has no connection to her plans.
