"Who should I sign it to?" The first worlds Ashton Irwin ever said to me.
"Maia. I'm a huge fan."
"Well, Maia, what's your Twitter name? I'll follow you now." Ashton smiled, pulling out his iPhone.
"It's @maialovesluke, cheesy I know." I blushed.
"It's cute. But not Ashton." He winked.
"I'll make sure that changes." I winked back, flirting.
"Hmm, maybe you just earned yourself a direct message, young Maia." He laughed. I clutched my 'she looked so perfect' EP, freshly signed, and grinned widely as I walked away. He was everything I'd imagined. Perfection. "How was it?" My mum asked.
"Perfect." I smiled, pushing my blonde hair behind my ear. I'd worn my grey ripped skinny jeans, and black doc martins, as well as my green day tee. I didn't want to look over the top fangirl. I pulled myself into mums car, and went straight onto Twitter. I read to mum, "@ashton5sos follows you!" I almost cried. "That was definitely worth the drive!" Mum smiled. I started to message ashton. "Thanks for the follow, means a lot:) xx" sent. I couldn't stop smiling.
Once I got home, I lay on my bed and rang my boyfriend. "Hey jake."
"Hey, Maia, how did it go?"
"Good, he followed my Twitter dude! Do you know how cool that is!"
"That's pretty cool babe. I'm glad you had fun."
"How was your day?"
"Alright, just lazed around I guess. Look I've gotta go, I'm in the middle of something. Love you."
"Love you too." I said, hanging up the phone. Jake had been so distance lately, we had barley spoken for a while now. I pulled out my laptop, and logged onto my Twitter. I had a message from Ashton. "You're welcome Maia! I see you changed your name;)xxx" I laughed. "Only for you;)cxx" he replied almost straight away. "FaceTime? My numbers 07934923393 xx"
Ashton Irwin wanted to FaceTime me. Stay calm. I redid my makeup, and hair. I pushed out my boobs, and balanced my camera at a good angle. As it started to ring, Ashton answered, lay in his underwear. "Hey! Wow, you look good!" He grinned. I laughed. "Hey, I'm sorry this is just so surreal!"
"Don't worry! I've never done this before either! I guess I liked you!" He winked.
"What do you wanna talk about?" I asked.
"Well, tell me about you."
"Well, um, my name's Maia Quickenden, and I'm 16. I'm Australian, obviously, and that's about it I guess." I laughed.
"No," he shook his head. "I mean all the little things, that make you who you are. Your biggest fears, secrets, dreams."
"Well, they're a the same in a way. When I was six, my dead was killed in a robbery. At least that's what we thought. Turns out it was planned, not a robbery, but a murder. Mum's never told me why. And we never knew who. But, for like 10 years after we were under witness protection. So that's my secrets and fears."
"What about your dream?" He asked.
"My dream? To be free. To leave this, this fear. To find out who killed my dad."
"What was he called? Your dad? I don't know, maybe I could help." He smiled.
"Craig. Craig Reynolds. I had to change my name, because y'know, witness protection." Ashton went white.
"How was he killed?"
"Stabbed. What's wrong?"
"I think I know who killed your dad."
