Hello. In this imagine, you're Harley's best friend. Again, I haven't seen the newer seasons of Stuck in the Middle and so please forgive me if I write something wrong. But enjoy!
Requested? Yep
Y/N's POV
It wasn't ever supposed to happen. Harley is my best friend, therefore making him off limits. Ethan is off limits. But that doesn't stop the feelings that have grown inside my chest. I like Ethan, like, like like him. But I couldn't tell anyone, especially not my best friend, even though we tell each other everything. This is the one secret I have to keep to myself... But even your darkest secrets may one day see the light.
"He's just so annoying!" Harley complained as we sat at the kitchen table. We were trying to do homework, but Ethan could be heard playing his guitar, loudly and not well, from upstairs. "He just never stops and he's not that good!" She continued. I let a little laugh slip out of my lips, "Give him a break. If you don't practice, you don't get good. I'm sure some of your early inventions failed and made everyone around you annoyed." I stated, nudging her shoulder with my own. Harley rolled her eyes and sighed, "Okay, so maybe your right... But it doesn't mean I can't be annoyed with it. I just wish he would stop for a little bit." As if he had heard, the guitar playing immediately stopped. Harley looked over at me with wide eyes, "And now I wish I had a billion dollars." I let out a harsh laugh at her words, causing her to laugh too.
"Hey guys," Ethan greeted from the stairs, causing our laughter to die down. My cheeks tinted a bit pink at the sound of his voice. "Hey Ethan" I greeted him. Harley didn't say anything, which confused him. "Harls? Hello!" Ethan coaxed, dragging out the o of hello. When Harley didn't respond again, Ethan looked to me, and I just shrugged. Ethan made his way across the room and stood in front of his sister. "Harley! I know you can hear me." Ethan complained, crossing his arms. Harley snapped the book that sat in front of her shut, "You're right Ethan, I can hear you. Just like we could hear your guitar playing while we were trying to do homework." Ethan looked down guiltily, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be that loud. I didn't know you could hear me..." Ethan apologized. Harley let out a sigh and shook her head, "It's okay. I'm just a little stressed out." Harley explained, glancing up at her brother before looking back at her homework. "Shoot. I've got to grab something from my room... I'll be right back!" Harley told me before standing up and rushing out of the room.
There was a silence before Ethan cleared his throat and looked over to me, "So how are you doing Y/N?" He asked. I looked up from my homework and found Ethan staring holes into me. I felt my face flush slightly, before clearing my throat, "I'm doing alright. How are you?" "I'm good... I'm good..." He trailed off. Again, a silence fell over us.
Ethan let out a sigh before sitting down in front of me. "Listen Y/N. I need to tell you something... I like you. I've liked you for a while now but I just never knew how to tell you. And I just thought I would tell you now." Ethan told me. I stared wide eyed at the boy I like. I can't believe that this is actually happening. "Ethan, I like you too. A lot. But Harley is my best friend and I can't date her brother. It's like in the best friend code or something. But I really do like you Ethan."
Before Ethan got a chance to answer, someone else had something to say, "You like Ethan?" I gasped and stood up, "Harley!" "You like my BROTHER?!" Harley exclaimed louder. "You're my best friend! You can't like my brother! You're mine!" Harley then turned around and ran back upstairs. "Harley!" The two of us exclaimed in unison. Ethan and I looked at each other, "I'll go talk to her." I said before running up the stairs after her.
"Harls?" I questioned, knocking lightly on her door, before opening her door. Harley sat on her bed, a pillow hugged to her chest. "Oh Harles." I sighed before entering the room and sitting on the bed in front of her. "How long?" She asked, "How long have you liked my brother?" I sighed at her question. "A while. I was never going to act on it though. You're my best friend and I never ever want to lose you. You were never supposed to know." Harley let out a sigh at my explanation. "I'm just worried is all. My whole life I've had to share everything with my siblings and then I made a friend and I didn't have to share you. That sounds weird. But I'm worried that if you and my brother start dating that I'll lose you."
I leaned forward and wrapped my arms around my friend. "You're not ever going to lose me. You're my best friend and I love you bunches. No one could ever take me away from you, not even your brother. Yes I like him, but I love you, you're my best friend dude. Nothing could change that." Harley let out a sigh of relief. "I love you too. Nothing could change you being my best friend.... Not even if you decide that you wanted to date my brother..." I let go of Harley and stared at her, "Are you sure? Because I won't act on my feelings if you don't want me to date your brother." Harley let out a little laugh and gave me a soft smile, "Yeah I'm sure... Like we said, nothing could change the fact that we're best friends."
A clearing of the throat jarred us from our little bubble. Ethan stood in the doorway, hand on the back of his head. "Hey," He greeted, a little unsurely. "Hey Ethan," Harley greeted back, her voice soft. "We good?" He asked. Harley nodded, "We're good... You can ask them out if you want." Harley offered up. My face blushed a bright red, "Harley!" I exclaimed. Harley let out a giggle, "What? He can!" Ethan let out a laugh, "Well... I would like to... So, Y/N, would you like to go out with me?" I stood off of Harley's bed and completely turned to face Ethan. I gave him a bright smile. "I would love to go out with you Ethan."
The two of us grinned at each other before hugging. The hug lasted a bit longer than expected. Right before I was about to pull away, Harley spoke up. "Okay, okay. Just because I approve of your relationship, doesn't mean I want to see your PDA. Now get out of my room!"
Question of the Update: Do you believe in love at first sight? I don't think that I do. Mainly because I think that there is so much more to a person than looks. I think that you can be extremely attracted to a person the first time you see them, but you cannot fall in love with them. Leave your answers in the comments below!
XOXO
