Chapter 16

Richie and Eddie got to Richie's house and climbed up the tree next to his window and into his room. Richie ran over to his dresser and stashed his blade into his sock drawer.

"You still haven't unpacked?" Eddie asked pointing to the suitcase in the corner.

"Oh I was going to do that today."Richie said sitting down on his bed.

Eddie sat on the bed next to Richie, "Richie... why did you, ummmm start cutting."

"Ed's I don't know. It helped me feel better i was like empty. i did't know who i was without you and the losers... and there was a lot of stuff going on in my head." Richie said blushing.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Eddie asked.

"Well there's this person I like and I kinda kissed them and I think I might have ruined our friendship." Richie said.

"Would I know this person?" Eddie asked smiling.

"Yeah, he's short, has thousands of fanny packs-" Richie said looking at Eddie.

Eddie leaned over and kissed Richie interrupting him mid sentence. suddenly there was a knock on the door.

"Eddie hide in the closet." Richie whispered to the boy.

"No I'm not letting you get hurt." Eddie responded.

"please Ed's." Richie pleaded.

Eddie reluctantly climbed into the closet closing the door behind him ready to jump out if things went wrong.

Richie walked over to the door and opened it to see his dad standing there.

"Richie were so sorry, don't blame your mother it was my idea to drink last night." Wentworth said.

"Its okay..." Richie said quietly.

"No it's not. this morning I called Mrs Uris back in Darry and I have it set up so you can stay there for a while. And while your there me and you mother have decided to go to rehab." Wentworth said.

Richie jumped forward and hugged his Dad smiling. "Dad there's something I need to tell you."

"Yeah."

"Dad i'm bi." Richie said.

"And why would that change anything?" Wentworth asked smiling at Richie.

"Thank you!" Richie said pulling away from the hug with his Dad.

"You should get packing, I'll be down stairs." Wentworth said.

"Hold on Dad can I leave tonight?" Richie asked.

"Sure when ever your ready." Wentworth said smiling at his son before going down stairs

"Yay your coming home with us." Eddie said hugging Richie as soon as he closed the door to his room.

"Now where were we." Richie said leaning down kissing Eddie again. "Okay you can climb out the window and i'll go out the front door and we meet at the side of the house." Richie said garbing his suit case and backpack full of comics.

"Hey Richie... I was wondering if you maybe would want to um be my boyfriend?" Eddie asked blushing.

"Eddie spaghetti are you trying to ask me out?" Richie asked laughing moving towards Eddie.

"No." Eddie said turning bright red.

"Of coarse I'll date you." Richie said kissing Eddie. "Now are you going to need help getting out the window or can you do it by your self Ed's?" Richie asked opening up the window.

"1. don't call me Ed's 2. I know how to climb down a tree." Eddie said glaring at his boyfriend.

"Then meet you in the yard." Richie said kissing Eddie one last time before heading downstairs with his suitcase.
