He was moving impatiently in his state of apparent deep sleep . Engulfed in cold sweat and groans for help , he was gasping for one air of breath . The tightly shut windows rattled because of the devastating tempest , both outside and on the inside . He unconsciously clutched the light coloured bed sheets and threw his freezing feet in the atmosphere of his disorientated room .

Tears trickled down his warm cheeks and he was trying so hard to hold on to something to feel safer , to be secure . The strength of the storm on the other side of the window compelled the curtains inside to fly with forceful coercion . Icarus was woken up by the chimes of the clock striking four in the morning . Nature calmed herself down slowly , and the violent clouds and squall of driving rain met a halt , followed by an aftermath of anxiety and doubt . The feeble moist leaves attached to the thinnest twig of the rejuvenated tree , and drenched flowers growing aimlessly on the grass , all looked up at the distant horizon with hopeful mush faces and sanguine bright eyes , awaiting a redeeming Sun .

Icarus , too , was waiting for his redeeming Sun to wake him up from his burdensome ephialtes . His mind was a dark corner , inhabited by baneful misery and monstrous terror of the antecedent experiences of his life . He envisioned incidents he wanted to banish from his memories and expel them forever . But they haunted him day and night , chased his innocent existence and left him hysterical and afeared .

The sultry inclement weather had its effect on the faces and mindsets of people . Everybody was either passively gloomy or uninterested in their routined chores . Icarus himself did not feel motivated enough to attend school but he was obliged to show up anyways .

Achilles did not look quite energetic , needless to say his behavior was influenced by the harsh weather of the morning . Icarus insinuated Patroclus was not going to join them today . And as for Helen , she came off well ... cranky and rude so it was wise for the boys to not bother their friend at this time .

" I can not believe you consider us worthy of your precious time " commented Achilles sarcastically when Icarus took a seat beside him .

" excuse me ?" asked a very befuddled Icarus .

" you know , when do you even get the leisure to meet mine? You barely have any time left after hanging out with the more renown people , like that Apollo, isn't it ?" Icarus now knew what his friend was talking about .

" We are friends now . And I do not know if you will believe it or not but he is very nice and kind and friendly . Besides it appeared you did not have enough time to spend with me either . It is only fair " he did those taunting double quotes in the air , and chuckled once humourlessly .

" Look Icarus , I am going to be very straight forward with you since I have to care about you and your well being , and if anything happens to your brittle feelings , I will be blamed " Icarus rolled his eyes .

" Apollo is a lying scum just like his siblings , his parents , like every single elitist show off . You believe he cares about your feelings . Guess what my friend , he does not . Shocking for you? I understand . You are his little plaything which he will replace any time he reckons is convenient for him . He is ruthless and you do not matter to him at all , just saying . You can call me out all you want albeit that sounds cruel , that was the truth . You are too naive for all of this Icarus . You are still a child " .

When Achilles turned around he expected a teary , swollen eyed Icarus , whom he would provide a comforting hug and consolations and sympathies of all kinds . Apollo was no good , he thought he would tell him . But the tables had marvelously turned .

Icarus slammed the desk and Achilles inaudibly shrieked .

" He wanted to be friends with you too . He wanted to apologise for his brother's past misdeeds . But I stopped him , you know why? Because I knew how exactly you would treat him . You were most likely to humiliate him , and make him seem pathetic about his own self . You think you are trying to help me but you are just putting out your anger on someone who is no way involved in hurting you or your sensitive ego , letting your stupid prejudice take over your ability to think rationally . I .. I- " he did not know what else to say . He had never spoke to Achilles like that . For the record, he had never spoke to anyone like that way . He was on the verge of tears . Achilles stood in the middle of the classroom , absolutely dumbfounded . That meant Icarus was prepared to stake his old friends for that one prodigal of that Zeus's son . How wonderful.

Icarus stood just outside the classroom , in the corridor , silently crying , drawing enough attention towards himself . He hated restriction and he was not going to let Achilles or anyone for that matter , guide or direct him wrongly . Why does he have to defend Apollo all the time? Why does he need to pick sides? Why is any of this happening? He let out an exhausted cry of frustration .

Right now he wanted to be with Apollo because whenever he had Apollo present in the same room with him , his head lying on his lap , both of them so carefree and he would kiss his forehead and seemingly all the pain would ebb out of his body . He could stay up all night with Apollo , and recite poems to each other . When he was in Apollo's company , in his protective arms , he hardly remembers having those massive wax wings anymore .
