Frank sighed, pushing his car door open. He looked at the house before him, in all of its ancient elegance. It seemed over a hundred years old, yet never diminishing in its victorian glamour. He could tell from its exterior that it was very well kept, and very expensive. He groaned, he would have to retire his messy ways.

Dragging his suitcase, he approached the front door. He raised his hand to knock, however the door creaked and opened on its own. Frank chuckled, shrugging and continuing inside. He stared in awe and the vast beauty of this home. Very well decorated, very well kept. It was almost terrifying. He took a few more steps inside, then called for his grandfather. He heard movement in another room, and a few moments later an old man stepped into the hallway.

"Frank! It's been forever!" His grandfather exclaimed, pulling Frank into a hug. Frank laughed, and stared at his elder.

"This place is huge!" the boy exclaimed, laughing and watching his grandfather smile. Out of nowhere, a maid appeared. She grabbed Frank's belongings, and surprised Frank. He jumped slightly, and chuckled at his nervousness.

"Yes it is! I'm glad you like it!" Mr. Iero said, laughing at his grandson's clumsiness. They exchanged small talk, laughing and catching up. After a few moments, Frank's eyes wandered to the grand staircase in front of him. His grandfather followed his eyes, and smiled.

"It's a beauty, isn't it?" Mr. Iero remarked. He didn't try to hide the pride in his voice, because frankly the staircase was impressive. There was a giant stained glass window where the two ends of the staircases met, and a figure was depicted on it. It seemed to be a pale man, wrapped in red cloak. He was holding a black rose with blood dripping from it. The ground was covered in pools of the dark liquid, and an evil smirk lied on the monster's lips. Frank shuddered at it, it was indeed a disturbing image.

"Your room is actually up there, towards the left. Door's open, you should find it no problem," his grandfather said, snapping Frank out of his trance. The boy sheepishly nodded, grabbing his things.

Frank climbed the staircase and entered his room. He searched the room with his eyes, when he landed on the bed frame. The bed was made out of dark wood, and was very delicately carved. Figures danced along the bed frame, depicting a strange story. A man in a cape, a mob, and fire was what Frank could make out. Like the stained glass piece, this freaked Frank out quite a bit. He shuddered, and reached for his belongings.

Frank finished up settling in, and by that time, it was night. He sighed, and lied on his bed. He pulled out his phone, reading all of the messages his friends sent. He smiled, responding to a few, before someone called him. He laughed at the caller ID, and picked it up.

"FRANKIE IM DYING I NEED YOU!" a familiar voice screamed through the phone. Frank laughed, and put him on speaker.

"You are not dying, Ray," Frank said, matter-of-factly.

"Yes I am. I need you bro, this second," Ray whined.

"And what for?"

"I met a girl..." Ray mumbled.

"RAY FUCKING TORO HAS A GIRLFRIEND???" Frank exclaimed, laughter abrupted through the phone.

"Not a girlfriend.... yet."

"So proud of you... my little boy's all grown up!" Frank teased.

"Shut up! Speaking of, any cute girls over in the 1800s?" Ray joked.

"Only person I've seen so far is my grandfather, so uh yeah," Frank remarked, causing his friend to laugh.

"Better find a hot babe and bring her back for summer. I have faith in you Frankie!"

"Hm I hope so too... Ray you should come here, it's like so creepy," Frank commented.

"Ew why would I want to go then?"

"It's kinda nice, but there's like pictures of monsters everywhere," Frank stated.

"Oh yeah, so nice Frankie. Maybe you'll find a ghost babe," Ray snorted.

"Hanging up on you, Toro."

"NO! I miss you bro, come back!" Ray whined.

"Bye!" Frank pressed the hang up button. He sighed, throwing his phone on his pillow. He was not tired, but didn't know what to do with himself. He settled on searching the house. Near his room was a giant library. It was dark, having been only lit by candles. He chuckled, his grandfather really was old-fashioned.

Frank skimmed his fingers along all of the books and their ancient bindings. He had to admit, the library was very impressive. He hummed as he continued exploring. When all of a sudden, he heard shuffling near the door.

He stepped towards the hallway, investigating the noise. He didn't see anything. Before he turned, he heard someone walking behind him. This caused the short boy to jump. He faced the direction of the noise, but didn't see anyone. He sighed, trying to calm his nerves.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a dark figure running towards the door. He quickly backed towards the door, terrified. He turned around, still facing the library. Instead of entering the hallway, he hit a warm figure. He practically screamed, slowly turning towards the figure. He sheepishly looked up, his eyes greeted by a pale smiling figure.

"Boo!"
