Merlin

I looked upon the girl's face. I don't have any interest to impress anyone, like I had before... but this time it feels a little bit different.
I wonder who she really is.. it's almost like she keeps more mysteries than her body could bare and I wish she could just tell me right away..
I know that it might be difficult since we're still strangers and I'm not the one to force anything.

"Merlin?"
She turned to me with a hopeful smile.
"Do you think your light could snap the thread off?"
I pull back for a second.. I wonder what got inte her head now?
"Uhm, that might be too dangerous" I chuckled in discomfort. Use lighting for a small piece like a thread might cause her to look like a grilled steak.
"However.. I know someone who might have the right tool to snap it off.. but the last time when I asked him about it, he refused"
I thought about excalibur..
Since it's been forged with magic it could definitely break it but I don't think Arthur would be pleased about using it for this .
"Well.. can I talk to him? You could bring him here tonight. Maybe he'll change his mind about it. I'd be more than happy to run away with you-"
"-Whoa! Slow down!" I pragmatically interrupted..
In theory it sounds fantastic but wouldn't that be kidnapping? Wait.. it shouldn't matter. If Arthur knew there's someone who needs rescue with his help, there's still a chance he would help her.
But.. since we're still dwarfs, I don't think he might be able to pull it up... unless-
Wait.. that's it!
I gritted my teeth

"You know what, Hope. I will talk to him! But in order for that, I need help with something. Do you know anything about a flower called Dragon's blood?"
She pressed her lips together.
"Uhm, I'm not sure but if anyone would know about it, it would be my father'
Great. Back to square one it is.. unless I could come up with a plan for him into hand it over willingly.
"That's what he wanted in the first place.. the sword. Sorry that I didn't tell you about it before."
She narrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
"You're planning to cut the thread off... with a sword?" She questioned with a pessimistic tone.
"Come on now! You just asked me to zap you five minutes ago. A little touch with he tip is nothing compared to lightening.. I promise, nothing bad will happen"

We stood there, looking at each other in silence with an awkward atmosphere. It looked like she's in an inner conflict with herself until she sighed out with unease.
"Uugh Fine, I trust you... BUT if it doesn't work, I don't want to try any more theories of yours. The thought of a sword near my neck already screams crazy to me"
"Oh you.. that's not the worst thing I've tried to be honest" I chuckle unironically.
Concidering what things I made my friends try these past years, this is nothing.

"So here's the plan. If we could convince your father to give us the flower willingly, Arthur could pull up the sword.. Then, we run away! How does that sound?"

She gave me a concerned look. I know it must be hard for her to go against her abuser, especially when that man is her father.. but at the same time, it'll be the first step to take for her to be happy.
"I'll try my best.. but promise me you'll be back tonight. Or else everything would be in vain."
I made a cross over where my heart would be.
She gave me a confused look.
"What is that? Some sort of a wizard ritual?"
I chuckle at her assumption, I thought she was joking at first but then I realize that she probably are lacking of social skills.. it's honestly kinda heartbreaking knowing she haven't been able to make any friends..
"Oh! Ehm.. it's the thing you make when you promise something by heart."
She gave me a genuine smile and did the same thing back at me.
"There.. it's settled in heart!" She giggled at her own joke.
It's ridiculous to think this, I know but.. she seems cute.
Awkward... but cute.

[y/n]

I waved him goodbye and closed the window shut.
If I think clear enough, I could settle this up.
I made it through the halls and stairs until I stood outside my father's office. With a shaky hand, I knock twice on the oak-wood door.
It didn't take long before door opened and he greeted me with a wide grin.
"Now daughter.. tell me everything"
He motioned me to sit down on the comfortable chair behind the desk, but I stay firm.
This is it.. I need to come up with something fast or else he would use magic against me.
Maybe I could tell him they needed the flower without mentioning me running away..
Alright.. here goes nothing.
"He told me about the sword.. but in order for him to get it, t-they need the flower..... then they will h-" I whimper out.
"Huussh, I can't stand that voice. You know that [y/n]. Tell me everything!"
At that sentence, it all went black and everything stood silent.
Right.. I'm not there anymore.
The next thing I know, I wake up on the floor beside my bed.. in my right hand lies a bottle, smaller than my pinkie finger.
Inside it, there's a bright red liquid and a white petal stuck inside.. enough for one person to drink.
I pulled myself up from the floor and gazed at the little thing.
There was a name written on the sticker behind it and I came to realize that I must have told him everything again.. like I always do.

"For Arthur"

I failed Merlin.. and I failed myself.
They have no choice now but to handle the sword over and it's my fault, like always.
I have the urge to throw away the damn bottle and walk out from the front door until I get suffocated.. but at the same time, I want to redeem myself.. I made a promise to him after all, even if I didn't tell him out loud..

"I will break your curse, Merlin.. no one has ever been this kind to me as you have been"
