JJ's POV
I watch as Kie places the little raft thing into the water and light the candle. It was another one of her brilliant ideas, as most of them were. I watched as my best friends, no. My siblings, bob away on a little raft. A picture of my siblings because they could be dead.

I glance over to see Kie, and see a single tear drip down her face. It left a little trail down her cheek, and it landed on her perfectly tan, bare thigh as she hung her legs over the side of the dock.

I glance up to see even more tears roll down her face, and she silently puts her hand up to her mouth, and she closes her eyes to hold in her sobs. The tears spill over her hand, and she lets out a tiny sob. I take her small hand in mine and she glances at me, and offers me a grateful smile, and rests her head on my shoulder. She takes her hand away from her mouth and wipes her tears off and then takes Pope's hand too. We sit like that for a few minutes until she abruptly stands up and rushes to the Château.

Pope and I look at each other, both confused as to what had just happened.  We both head into the house, but stop outside the door.

"Go on." Pope nudges me, and points to the door.

"I'm not going on there! Are you crazy?" I scream whisper.

"Well someone has to go in and that's not gonna be me!" He whispers back.

"Why do I have to go in! Why can't you!"

"Fine. We'll do rock, paper, scissors."

"Fine." I agree.

He chose paper and I chose rock.

"Rock? Seriously? That's so cliche." Pope mumbles. Damn. Judgy much?

"It's the first thing I thought off!" I defended.

"You lost..." He reminds me.

"Shit. Ok. Fine. But if she stabs me or something my life is on your hands." I complain, and knock on the door.

"Come in." I heard her answer, so I slowly opened the door and peeked my head in, checking to see if she had any sharp objects she could kill me with. When I was sure she had no weapons, I hesitantly leaned against the wall and shoved my hands into my pockets.

"So um...you...are you...is it...are you ok?" I ask, not really sure what to do or say.

"Yeah."  She mumbles, and another tear slides down her face. I walkover and sit on the edge of the bed, and clasp my hands together.

"So do you um...wanna talk about it?" I ask, and more tears start to fall down her beautiful face. "Um ok why are you crying even more?" I question, panicking because I made her cry.

"I-I Don't know." She whispers, and the tears start to fall even more. "I don't know why! It's just, John B was like my brother and Sarah was like my sister and I-" She don't finish.

"Hey. Hey. It's ok." I sooth, and reach up and gently place my hand on the side of her face and use my thumb to wipe away her tears.

I watch her, and my heart breaks seeing her upset. She glances back up at me and when our eyes meet, I feel something inside me change. I felt the protective barrier that I always put up inside of me crumble, and I know she saw it too.

Her beautiful brown eyes soften, and she offers me a small, gentle smile. I love her smile. I love her beautiful eyes, her humor. Her laugh.

I get this impulsive feeling and I lean forward and press my lips against hers. She hesitated for a second before pulling away.

"I um-I'm sorry, I don't know why I did that, that was um...weird? I'm sorry, I-" I ramble, dragging my hand through my hair and shaking my head.

"Hey. It's ok!" She reassures me, letting out an awkward laugh, and wiping away the few last tears on her face.

"Yeah, um, that-" I start.

"No it's- it's fine." She says, and her perfect lips split into a smile. "No pogue on pogue macking." She reminds me, and laughs again.

I let out a sigh. "Yup. No pogue on pogue macking." I turn away and drag my hand through my hair again. "No pogue on pogue macking." I mumble to myself.
