You Again

Chapter 33

There are two songs in this chapter. I'll have the first video above if you want to read it while reading. I'll have the second video right after the first team finishes. I hope that you guys like the two songs which have been some of my favorites. 

I yawned, laying my head on Ryker's shoulder. Time seemed to pass slowly as bands performed. Some of them were good, while some needed some improvements. The stage was empty as the next band was getting ready. I felt someone's eyes on me. Looking around, I noticed brown eyes staring at me from the off right wing, the area surrounding the playing space not visible to most of the audience.

"He's really getting on my nerves," Ryker grumbled.

I looked up to see his midnight blue eyes glaring at Lark who was still staring at me. I smiled, pleased to see this rare side of him. He wasn't jealous or angry when I'm around the Blackbourne team. The Toma team had Kayli, and although we'd get into each other's personal space, he knew that I viewed the Toma Team like my immature brothers. He wasn't jealous about any of the Academy boys who showed an interest in me because most of them would gracefully take my rejection. If not, I would beat them up, and I knew that he liked seeing me stand up for myself. But when it comes to missions, it was hard for him because I would sometimes have to get close to men who wanted something else than just looking at me.

His eyes glanced at me, and his eyebrows went up. "You're smiling."

I nodded. "You're hot."

He chuckled, and I was glad that he wasn't thinking about Lark anymore. His arm came around my shoulders and I snuggled back into his side. "How did I get so lucky?"

I smiled. "Shouldn't I be saying that?"

He pursed his lips in thinking before nodding. "Yeah, you should. I'm a great catch."

I elbowed his side, making him laugh. As we chuckled, Rin, Rowan, Cian, Gabriel, and Luke came onto the stage. I was anticipating their performance. After that moment when Gabe and Luke's apartment a year ago, they both still struggled but had bounded forward in leaps and bounds. Luke still was startled at loud noises but he didn't descend into panic attacks. Gabe had problems letting go of his anger and showing his emotions after pushing them behind a mask for so long. Mr. Blackbourne was able to sort his emotions behind his mask, but Gabe was an exuberant and loud person that he didn't know how to handle his pent-up emotions.

The mc Tori smiled shyly at the five guys. I don't blame her. My brother, his two lovers, and the two best friends were very good looking. Too bad that three of them were in a relationship with each other, and the two others were not looking for a relationship yet.

Yoongi smiled at the five guys on stage. "Hello, what are your names?"

Luke jumped forward, being his enthusiastic and happy self. At least now it wasn't forced anymore. "Luke Taylor. These are my friends: Gabe Coleman, Cian Kilgannon, Rin Tanaka, and Rowan Yaeger. We are the Prime."

Mr. Gilheart leaned forward. "Why do you call yourself the Prime?"

Gabriel smirked, knowing he was making several girls fan themselves. "Obviously because we are the best."

The judges laughed while other bands glared at him. I rolled my eyes as the four of us chuckled. Oh, Gabriel, always making trouble. Mr. Gilheart smirked. "We'll see. Begin."

Gabriel's view swept over the audience before his eyes landed on me. With a smirk on his face, he winked at me as they started playing. As the first notes came to a crescendo, he stepped forward to hold the microphone and started to sing.
