Rosen POV A/N: I didn't describe the main character's appearance on purpose to make sure this ff is all inclusive to all races. Enjoy☺️
My mother is getting remarried. He's older, by 4 years or so. He sounds nice on the phone—friendly, overly taken by my mother's seduction. Just like the ones before him, and no doubt like the ones after. I don't expect it to last very long, despite my mother's artificial class and self-proclaimed standards she wasn't one to be tied down—ironically. If I were to describe her, the adjective promiscuous would be sure to adorn the list. Somewhere near the top I predict. The only reason why she keeps me around is to make her feel as if she has some type of solid obligation. Some type of purpose.
I am a reassurance if nothing else.
Yet still, she dragged me here. Into this overly posh restaurant, it's interior edging tacky. My eyes will probably be glued to the screen of my phone the whole time, perhaps if I come off as distant enough my mother's new toy won't pay me any mind. She turned to me while waiting for the hostess, daggers in her eyes ready to slice me open if I were to misbehave.
"Look at me," her voice was quiet, making my head shoot up at attention. "Be kind to him. If you need to have your nose in the phone the whole time so be it, but if he talks to you. You best give him your fullest attention."
I nod yes and she gives me a warning but satisfied look, boney hands finding my hair to straighten it out. She hated it when I didn't look neat, however didn't care much that I wasn't.
"I apologize for the wait, right this way ma'am."
The hostess Leads us to a booth, where two men are all ready sitting. One stood, greeting my mother with a short kiss. I could tell that he wished it to be longer, as he pressed himself up against her for a tighter embrace. But a telling gaze and mother's hand on his chest stopped him. The interaction only lasted a second, and I had only peered at them for half of that. I don't expect anyone to notice.
"You're such a flirt Daniel," my mother snickers in a low tone, sliding into the booth beside me—Prada handbag separating the two of us. You lecture me for isolating myself, but you don't do a lot to make Is feel any closer.
"Always a pleasure Lilith, I swear the two of us have been so busy this past month we haven't seen each other in ages," His milk tone skin wrinkled around his eyes whenever he smiled. Hand snaking around my mother's atop the table. His eyes weren't loving, but sickeningly drunken in lust. His black orbs caught mine, I grimaced at myself for staring a second too long. My head pivots back down, attention turning back to my game.
"It's nice to finally meet you, Rosen. You're mother has told me so much about you," He smiles sweetly at me. I returned it, equally as empty. Mouth curling into a smile, but eyes remain unwavering.
"It's nice to meet you as well," my mother looks at me blankly, weary of my response.
"I apologize for her reservedness, my Rosen is as introverted as they come. However her ingenious certainly makes up for it," my mother takes a long sip of wine. A sip that was meant to induce more than taste.
"Oh, no need for apologies, I completely understand. Christian here has been quiet all his life, but you really get a sense of who he is through his art," the man wraps his arm around his son's broadened shoulders. I look up for a second to put a face to the name.
Christian, honey glazed skin contrasting his father's pale complexion. He wore a loose black shirt, the sleeves covered his arms from shoulder to wrist. But the neck line was just low enough for an inked whisp to be seen crawling up the side of his chest. Black hair fell on his eyes nonchalantly, it was messy but just enough for you to want to curl your finger into the locks and kiss his scalp.

Fiksi Penggemar"I was hoping you weren't as sick as me" "What do you mean-sick." "I mean I was hoping, you'd be repulsed by me. That you'd be disgusted by the idea of sleeping with who I am. But now, I'm glad you're ok with being wrong."
