Chapter Three...

I wake up to the sound of screaming girls. Go figure. I crawl out of bed and glance at my alarm clock; 5:36. Well, this isn't as bad as yesterday. "You are such an evil little git!" I hear Emily screaming. She may not admit it, but Emily definitely can be bipolar sometimes. "If I ever see you using my hair straightener again I will make sure the rest of your life will be miserable!" I'm so glad that I never get caught up in drama. The next thing I know, my door is being slammed open with a crying Addie walking in.

"Oh, Addison, don't cry, what's up?" I ask, trying to be consoling.

"I-I only needed to straighten my hair a little a-and E-Emily came in the bathroom and sh-she was being so so mean," she sobbed.

"Oh, well, I mean... Err, you know, you could've used my straightener, I'm sorry," I said, rubbing her back.

"Thanks Oli, what could I do without you?" Addie looked up at me and laughed nervously.

"Well, your life would be miserable and you'd probably get good grades," I said with a smile.

When it was time to go to breakfast, the girls headed down to the Dining Room. It isn't quiet or anything because all the girls were chatting and laughing. I went up to the serving line and saw that there was no food. I went to the kitchen to look for Mr. Kratzer (the best chef on this side of the Mississippi) and couldn't find him. The whole dorm was confused at this, usually Mr. Kratzer was up at the crack of dawn.

We went outside to look for someone but no luck. "What is going on!?" said one very angry Suzzy McCoy who depended on a good breakfast every morning.

"You think we know? Addie said sarcastically, probably still upset from this morning, of course Suzzy couldn't keep quite, in fact she whipped back.

"Don't talk to me like that, Carmichael," Suzzy snapped.

"I'll talk to you however I want, fatty," Addie retorted. Oh no, not the fat jokes, I thought.

"Ugh, you're such a cry baby, Addison!" Suzzy said.

Addie opened her mouth for something else but I cut in, "Addie, forget it, don't let her get to you, alright?"

"It's n-not alright!" her voice stuttered and shook.

"See what I mean," McCoy said with a roll of her eyes.

"Guys, seriously, shut up!" Mitchel screamed, she looked a bit shaken up but I couldn't tell why, "something bad is happening! I can feel it. I mean, look at the sky," she said, while looking up at the sky. We all did the same to find that it was the exactly as it was yesterday, but with more of a peculiar look. It almost looked like we were staring through a giant soap bubble, with shiny colours reflecting here and there; Mitch was right, it was bad.

I could hear a couple of mumbled, "Oh my goodness" and, "this is weird."  I desperately needed answers, none of this made sense. I head noises from behind me, it was then I noticed a herd of boys heading this way, eyes hungrily daring to the Dining Hall. They noticed the pack of girls huddled together, looking at the sky with looks of worry and awe.

"What's going on, d'you know?" Flacco asked me.

"Like I know. There was no food inside and we couldn't find Mr. Kratzer."

                "Hmm," is all he says.

Peter, a fit black guy, came up to me. "Hey what the hell's going on? Where's the food?" Why does everyone think I know everything?

                "I don't know, Peter, sheesh."

"UGH! I'm so hungry," he grumbles.

"Tell me about it," I hear Suzzy say.
