Chapter Ten....

A/N: Change of POV-Mitch.

I see Suzzy stand, the scraping of her wooden chair and tiled floor is loud and obnoxious. Emily gets up as well, a look of determination written all over her pretty face. I look over at Flacco. He's talking about how there's supposed to be a football game tonight, "I hope we beat those damn Steelers!"

Alex came to sit with us not too long ago and he replied, "yeah, dawg, they are going down!"

I roll my eyes, "boys" I mutter.

"I know, it's like they don't care about anything else other than football," Addie says, "I think it's because Flacco's mom named him after Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens are apparently playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers and those two teams are bitter rivals! I hate football; just a bunch of muscular guys in tight uniforms tackling each other. I'm so excited! I want to watch the game too!" I laugh; sometimes that girl can be so intermittent.

I felt something on my shoulder. I turn around to see McCoy looming over me, Emily and Lewis behind her with their arms crossed. Lewis is a tough black guy who has terrible anger problems I always hear of fights he has where some guys have to go to the hospital.

"Need to talk," she managed to get out of her overly-sized head. "I'm all ears," I say kindly; my mother always taught me that it's always good to kill with kindness.

"I want to challenge your authority, these students have a right to vote for their leader," she says this with bitterness. I flinch when she tightens her grip on my shoulder, "I want to be the candidate going against you, Mitchel."

"Oh-Okay. That's fine, well, I'm going to make an announcement to everyone-"

She had the audacity to interrupt me with, "NO!" there is now Suzzy-spit in my face, "I WILL MAKE THE ANNOUNCEMENT, MITCHEL, YOU JUST KEEP YOUR DAMN MOUTH SHUT!" I almost have tears in my eyes. Almost.

"Fine," I say as calmly as I can, "you can give the announcement, Suzzy."

She stalks off, her posse close behind. I take a deep breath. Suzzy snatches the little silver bell on the counter near the serving line and gave it a ring. Everyone hushed immediately (when the staff was still here they used it to say important announcements.)

Suzzy makes a loud ehm ehm so people looked directly at her.

"So, as many of you know, a certain someone has unfairly claimed the title of 'Leader,'" there are some murmurs; about half of the students nod agreement, while the other half thought she was just talking crap like Suzzy always does.

She continues "I think that, since we're living in America and all, we should have a democracy." There was confusion from most of the crowd.

"That is why I am going to be running against Mitchel Goldstein in an election," she says, "You all will vote tonight. Me or Goldstein. Choose wisely" Suzzy stared daggers at each and every person in the Dining Hall, then walked right out the door with Lewis and Emily.
