It was a normal day at the Smith's house. Summer scrolls through Instagram, ignoring her father, Jerry, as he tries lecturing her about something she couldn't care less about. Space Beth (Beth) and the other one (Bethany) make dinner, as usual, they exchange some gossip that had happened in space and at work.

While all this is happening, Rick and his grandson, Morty, are relaxing in their garage, building whatever and talking about their previous adventure. Of course, Rick doesn't care ,so he just hums, nods and doesn't face Morty at all.

"-aw jeez, R-Rick, I-I can't believe we- we did it!" Morty states with enthusiasm after saying almost everything they had done on the adventure, pumping a fist into the air. Rick heavily sighs, frustrated and irritated.

"That's, wh(burp)at? Th-the tenth time you've said that. It's getting annoying, M-Morty. That adven-ventu(burp)re wasn't even that good. You fucked up at the last second, you f-forgetting about that?" Rick glances at Morty over his shoulder, glaring daggers into the poor teenage boy. With a silent scoff, Rick faces his device and starts screwing it with his screwdriver.

Morty sighs, slightly shivering. He turns around and walks to the garage door. Before he could open it, the door swings open with Beth coming in.

"Food's ready." she says with a bored expression on her face. Rick grumbles something under his breath, hopping to his feet. Beth leaves with her son walking close behind. Beth, Bethany and Morty set up the table and start dishing out the food as Rick, Jerry and Summer sit in their original spots by the dining table.

Rick scoffs down most of his food, not wanting to be spoken to by his daughters, his son-in-law nor his grandchildren.

"So," Bethany begins, making Rick groan "How'd you like the food?"

"Tas(burp)tes like shit. Your mom would've l-loved it." Rick states, shoving another fork full of food into his mouth as the two ladies smile at each other, their eyes watering slightly.

"Speaking of which..." Jerry says, glaring at Rick. "Where is she?"

"Six feet under." Rick says with some food coming out of his mouth, which he just wipes away with his sleeve, "Why?"

"Well, one day she just disappeared, Rick, then the cops found her in a bush with all her organs ripped out. I know you have something to do with it." Jerry points at Rick with his fork; he has a feeling the scientist had something to do with it, he just knows that he did something. Rick shrugs, swallows and stands up. He takes his plate and glass, walking to the kitchen. He drops his dishes into the sink before walking back to the garage door. He holds onto the door knob and faces his family, frowning.

"I did noth(burp)ing to Diane, but give her affection and love. W-why would I kill her?" leaving the question unanswered, Rick opens the door and slams it shut. Rick plops down on his seat again, pulling out his phone. He sighs, dropping his tense shoulders, he scrolls through his contacts. Rick's finger hovers over Unity. His ex-girlfriend who left him.

Was he really that desperate for attention that he'd call his ex? Rick doesn't know what to do. On the one hand, he still loves her, well, them, but on the other hand, they bring out the worst in each other.

He felt, in a way, torn. He knows he shouldn't call them, but he has an urge to talk to them.

Rick takes a deep breath, slowly shaking his head. He switches off his phone and throws it against the wall. Rick keeps losing people. He lost his wife, his daughter, heck, both of them. He even lost his best friend...
