Rick sighs and holds you, slowly rubbing your back. Jerry feels left out, so he stands up and walks to you two.
"Sorry about Beth and Bethany." Jerry sighs "They'll warm up to you, I promise." you cling tighter onto Rick, burying your face into his coat collar.
"You promise a lot of things, Jerry." Rick hisses at him "Could I just be alone with (y/n) for a few minutes?" Jerry sighs heavily, accepting defeat, while walking out of the living room.
Rick gently pushes you away from him and, with a single finger, he lifts your chin up, forcing you to look at his soft expression.
"I'm so sorry." Rick whispers "I should've thought before speaking." Rick exhales sharply.
"I-it's fine..." you sniff a little. Rick hates seeing you cry. There's two reasons. One, he doesn't like seeing you sad and two, he never knows what to do.
"Marshmallow(something Rick always called you when you were younger), do you want to get some ice cream maybe? Does that sound nice?"
Rick asks softly with a warming smile. You gently giggle, curling the sides of your lips.
"It does." you whisper and sniff. Rick wipes your tears with his thumbs and pecks your forehead.
You let go of Rick and follow him to the front door, fiddling with your finger nails, slouching slightly. Rick opens the door and walks out with you.
Rick holds your hand, swinging it slightly, as you two walk, making you smile and feel a bit better. Rick looks down at you with a smile.
"I missed that smile of yours." Rick kisses your nose. You giggle "And the laugh. Fuck, I just missed everything."
"I missed you too, honeybee." you plant a kiss onto Rick's cheek as you two walk to an ice cream store.
--
You finish the last of your ice cream, smiling whole doing so. Rick's arm is over your shoulders, watching you with a grin on his face.
He finished a while back, so that he'd be able to see the joy in your eyes while eating your favorite ice cream.
You face Rick once your done eating your cone. Rick chuckles and kisses you, smudging some of the ice cream onto his lips. When he pulls away, he licks his lips, making you giggle.
"I thought napkins were supposed to wipe things off of your face." you say, smiling at Rick.
"Yeah, but napkins suck." Rick leans down to you and nuzzles his nose against yours.
"You know, I've never had Earth ice cream." you say in a shy voice. Rick chuckles.
"It tastes like shit, huh?" you nod and laugh along with him.
"I mean, it's not bad, but I wouldn't have it willingly." you state as you slide out of the booth with Rick.
"Understandable." Rick says. You and him walk out of the ice cream store and onto the sidewalk. A mischievous smirk appears on your face.
You grab onto Rick's hand and spread your wings before shooting yourself into the sky. Rick whimpers a little before catching the hang of this.
Rick pulls himself up to you before wrapping his legs around your waist. You support his back with your hands as you fly up to a huge building.
You land on the roof and Rick gets off you. You giggle as you ruffle his hair. Rick kisses your cheek.
"Wish I had wings to hold you like that." you smile at Rick and kiss him.
