"keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow."

NARRATIVE POV:

"YOU WILL GO."
"you will find the fairy godmother and you will bring back the magic wand. easy peasy." maleficent says to the 4 teens as they enter their "castle."

"what's in it for us?" mal crosses her arms as she lines up horizontally with evie, jay, and carlos. "matching thrones, hers - and - hers crowns." maleficent says. "um- i..i think she meant us." carlos nervously corrects her.

" its all about you and me baby. do you enjoy watching innocent people suffer?" maleficent ignores carlos's correction and directs her attention to mal. "well yeah, i mean, who doesn't?" mal says as if it is obvious.

"well, then get me the wand and you and i can see all that and so much more. and with that wand and my scepter, i will be able to bend both good and evil to my will!" maleficent exclaims.

"our will!" the evil queen, evie's mother, corrects her. "our will, our will." mal looks back at her mother, "and if you refuse, your grounded for the rest of your life missy."

"what? mom-" mal gets cut off my maleficent's eyes going green. you know what that means, war. mal turns her eyes green as well for the staring contest with her mother. first one to blink, loses.

12 seconds later, mal blinks. evie, carlos, and jay groan in annoyance as maleficent says, "i win." with a wink.

evie walks over to her mother and sits in front of her.  "evie my little evil-lett in training, you just find yourself a prince with a big castle and a mother-in-law wing." the evil queen says to her daughter. "and lots and lots of mirrors." they say in sync as if it was rehearsed.

evie laughs, "no laughing, wrinkles!" evil queen exclaims.

"oh well, they're not taking my carlos, because I'd miss him too much." carlos's mom, cruella, says. "really mom? you mean it?" carlos asks with hope in his eyes. "yes. who would touch up my roots, fluff my fur, and scrape the bunions off my feet?" cruella snorts.

"maybe a new school won't be so bad." carlos mumbles. "oh, carlos! they have dogs in auradon!" cruella reminds her son. "oh no, i'm not going!" carlos exclaims causing maleficent to groan and roll her eyes.

"well, jay isn't going either. i need him to stock the shelves in my store." jafar, jay's father, states blunty as jay takes a lamp that he stole out of his pocket. "oo, a lamp!" jafar exclaims, snatching the lamp out of jays hand and rubbing it hoping a genie would come out of it. "dad, i already tried." jay sighs.
