Struggles

I picked up my purse, tightening the apron around my waist. The green fabric was perfect, wrinkle and stain less. I hopped into my broken down car, sighing as the loud engine roared.
I'm not the richest. I live in a run down apartment on the south side of LA. I don't have the nicest things but I manage. I work at Starbucks full time simply because they will help with paying my school. I want to be a director one day, but my parents wouldn't help me get into school... so I have to pay for it myself.
I pulled into the parking lot, twisting my hair into a high bun. My green hat making my brown hair messy. Oh well!
"Hey Kyra!" Eliza said to me. Her purple hair in a high ponytail in loose curls. Her green eyes were sparkling with happiness. I smiled at her.
"Hey Eli!" I said to her.
"Kyra come here." My manager said to me. I smiled and walked up to her, smiling.
"Hey Jared." I said to him, walking up. He didn't smile at me, and he looked rather angry.
"You are late... again.." he said to me. I looked him dead in the eyes, confused.
"I have never once been late... and I was late by one minute. Traffic was bad and my car doesn't go above 65." I said to him, making him roll his eyes.
"You're fired. Hand in your apron." He said to me. I stared at him blankly.
"What do you mean I'm fired?!" I asked. He looked at me, sighing. "You can't fire me! I need this job."
"Out." He said. I took off my hat, walking out of my workplace that is no longer my work place.
