-Calum's POV-
"I'm going shopping! Anyone want anything?" I called out pulling on my shoes
"Pretzels, Fanta, and some Malteasers please!" Hayden yelled down the stairs
"Make it a double order on the Pretzels please!" Hunter called out
I rolled my eyes at my sons unhealthy eating. "Can I come?" Annie piped up
"Course sweetie" I smiled and we got in the car
"Can I get my face printed on an M&M?" Annie's questions never failed to amuse me.
"Where did you hear that from?" I asked her
"TV advert" she shrugged "So can I?"
"Ask you dad" I replied filling up the shopping cart
"But you are my dad"
"I know. I meant your other dad" I huffed
"Why do I have two dads?" she asked pushing her glasses back up her nose "No one else at school does"
"Because..." I paused "I loved your dad very much so we got married and had you and your brothers"
"But I heard you need a mum and a dad to make a baby" she frowned
"Well you kinda do" I thought "But you guys were made specially"
"Specially?" she repeated
"Yeah basically a bit of me, a bit of your dad and then a tiny bit of a woman and then you guys were made"
"Wait" she stopped walking "So I have a mum?"
I knew this was coming "You kinda do, you kinda don't"
"But I was made by her so she is my mum!" she exclaimed
"Why are you so happy?" I asked
She shrugged "I don't know. What's it like having a mum?"
"A feminine version of Luke" I laughed to myself
"Do I get to meet her?" I froze at that question. I'm glad she asked me instead of Luke because he was scared that she was going to leave him for her real mum. Obviously that would never actually happen but that's Luke's mind for you.
"Maybe when you're older yeah? Now let's get this shopping home"
-----
"Ketchup! Hey buddy" Annie cooed as the dog came running in as soon as I opened the door
"Thanks for the help Annie" I said sarcastically struggling to get the shopping through the door
"You're welcome" she skipped off with the dog
"Oh hey dad" the boys came down, took their food and also left me
Luke then walked past and laughed at my state
"Please help" I pouted "The kids were no use"
We began shovelling the food into the fridge
"Annie's asking about her mum" I mumbled and winced when Luke froze
"S-she did?" he croaked out. He looked like he wanted to cry "She's gonna leave me, I know it"
"Hey now" I quickly hugged him "She doesn't have to if you don't want her to"
"But it's her mum Calum! She's the only girl and I feel bad that I'm the one that's preventing her seeing her" he mumbled into my shoulder
"Luke. You're her dad. It's your choice wether she meets Annie or not" I said rubbing his back softly
He sighed and nodded pulling away.
"I said she could when she's older. She'll probably understand more then" I reassured him
"Yeah okay" he breathed
"She also asked what it was like having a mum" I chuckled
"And what did you say?" he asked
"A female version of you" And that is how I got a ball of lettuce thrown at me
-----
After Annie went to bed, Luke said he was also so it was just me and the twins watching TV
"Dad?" Hayden turned to face me
"How can I help?"
"Annie was saying something about having a mum today..." he trailed off
I sighed "Just please don't talk about it in front of your father. He thinks you guys will leave him for her"
Hunter laughed "He really thinks that?"
"Unfortunately yes" I nodded
"So do we have a mum or...?" Hayden asked for confirmation
"Yeah you do. It was a combination of me, you dad, and lovely lady called Caroline who also carried you both for nine months. The same with Annie" I explained
"What's she like?" Hunter asked
I laughed at the memory "Well when she gave birth to Annie, she said and I quote 'You're lucky your the dads and not me because I wanna give that kid a piece of my mind' We send her pictures of you guys all the time" I told them
"Sounds sassy" Hayden laughed
"Oh she was" I chuckled "We didn't get along very well. It was mainly your dad who talked to her"
"I bet I could still beat you in a sass battle" Hunter raised an eyebrow
"Oh you're on"
