Ava pov

Melanie and I laid cuddled in the her bed while she cried.

I actually spent the night at her house last night because she called me distraught around 10pm.

She's pregnant.

Mel doesn't use birth control because she says it's unnatural. She got drunk, had unprotected sex and now 8 pregnancy tests later, here we are.

I was trying to calm her down by telling her it would be ok but we both knew that was a lie.

Her dad was going to have a stroke and her mom would probably just drink all the wine in the house.

"I don't want to get an abortion." She said tearfully.

"Mel, you don't have to."

"What other choice do I have? I can't have a baby. He doesn't even like kids. I had a plan for my life Ava. How can I go to med school and raise a baby?"

"You can adjust your plan. You know Caleb won't leave you just because you're pregnant, just tell him."

She started crying harder, "It's not Caleb's."

Hollup.

"What you mean?"

She wiped the tears from her face, hugging me tighter. "I love you Ava."

I pushed her away from me, "Mel tell me what you mean."

"It's Cam's." She whispered.

What the fuck?

"Cam's? The Cam I used to date?"

She nodded her head.

"Please don't let this break up our friendship Ava. You didn't even like him."

"For how long?" I asked lowly.

She stared at me with tears with her eyes, "6 months."

I couldn't believe this shit.

"So we were both fucking him at the same time?"

"I didn't mean for it to happen like this I swear."

"Happen like what? Find out that my bestfriend and I were having sex with the same person for damn near the whole time I was with him?"

"I love him."

I felt myself about to cry, "Melanie we've been best friends for years. You could've told me you wanted him."

"It just happened one night and that was supposed to be the only time but it kept going and going and I didn't know how to stop." She said with snot running down her face.

"So much for loyalty right?" I said as my voice broke. "After everything, how could you do that to me? He owes me nothing but we were supposed to be family." I whispered.

"I'm so sorry. We are family Ava. Forever."

I shook my head and got my phone while gathering my stuff.

I called Demetrius praying that he answered.

"Wassup?"

"Baby." I said with a lump in my throat, "Can you come get me?"

"What's wrong witchu?"

"I'll tell you when you get here. Hurry please."

"Here I come."

I hung up and continued stuffing clothes in my bag.

"Let's just talk about it." She pleaded.

I ignored her and slung my bag over my shoulder. As I went to walk out, I saw a picture of us from when we were kids.
