The Legend of Drizzt: Woodland Princess *COMPLETE*

Chapter 6

"By order of the king,the city will empty! We flee to helms deep" A guard yelled into the city,telling them to leave treasures behind.

Gimli scoffed "They flee to the mountains while they should stay and fight. Who will defend them if not their king?" Aragorn looked back "He is only doing what he sees as best for his people. Helms deep has saved them in the past."

"There is no way out of that ravine. He is leading them into a trap" Drizzt noted,Gandalf nodded at him "Aye,Theoden has strong will,but I fear for him. He will need you all before this is over. The defenses must hold"

"They will hold" Aragorn assured the wizard as he climbed onto Shadowfax. "The grey pilgrim. That's what they called me" Gandalf started "Three hundred lives of men have I walked this earth. And now I have no time."

He looked over the fellowship "Look to the east on the first light of the fifth day,at dawn,look to the east" as he ran out onto the fields.

"This is entirely unnecessary" Drizzt said as he mounted the horse behind Leevria "I would be able to keep up. I've been on foot for years now" The light elf rolled her eyes "I'll not have you walking as we sit atop a horse."

Drizzt made a noise of complaint and held onto her as the horse started sprinted away from Rohan.

As the people of Rohan are riding toward Helm's Deep, the riders in front are attacked by Orcs ridding battle Wargs. Drizzt's finally on foot, runs to the front as the sounds of battle reach the main company. "It's a scout," he shouts.  Legolas and Leevria rush past and begin to fire arrow after arrow into the on coming hoard. 

The city fought with honor,men on horses slicing the heads off orcs as Legolas and Gimli shouted their kill counts at each other.

"Leevria!" Drizzt yelled, the girl turned just in time to fire an arrow at the warg coming towards her. Drizzt exhaled, relief filling him, even if only for a second as he looked over to see Aragorn being thrown off a hill.

"Strider!" Without a moments hesitation, he ran and jumped after him.

Soon after, the battle was over, fallen soldiers of both sides covering the field. Leevria ran to Legolas and grabbed his shoulder "They're gone"

"Who?"

"Aragorn and Drizzt. I've no idea where they are" Legolas looked over at the battlefield

"Aragorn! Drizzt!" They yelled, running to the ledge. A glinting in the grass caught Leevrias eyes as she walked over, becoming distracted with an orc laughing.

"Tell me what happened and I will ease your passing" Gimli said, holding his axe at the creatures throat. "dead" it hardly choked out "They took a little tumble off the cliff"

Leevria knelt and grabbed the monster by its neck "You lie!" It laughed at her as it slowly faded away. She shook her head as tears slowly brimmed her eyes, walking to the edge where she had seen the glint.

Picking it up, she saw a small onyx statue of a panther staring back at her "No. Gods,no" she whispered, to distracted to notice the large black mass appearing beside her until it nuzzled her arm.

"Gwen" She sniffled, locking the panther in a head lock "Find them. Go find Aragorn and Drizzt" She told her,and the panther rubbed against her one last time before sprinting away,in search of her master and his friend.

She clutched the pendant close to her chest as she stood,feeling a hand on her back. "You love him" Legolas said,realization showing in his eyes. Leevria looked back at him with a tear stained face "What does it matter now?"
