I Love

You say I do not love,

That I am heartless,

But it isn't true.

I love but not like you.

My love isn't selfish

I have never wanted to make someone mine,

But I would do anything

To see my friends smile.

 I love them, I love you,

But not the way you do,

My love doesn't change through time,

No matter the cause i'll stand by your side.

When you offered the red rose to me,

It broke my heart to refuse.

But I know time will not change

The way I feel towards you.

I can only offer yellow roses

And a promise to protect you.

Darling don't cry and

Scream and lose hope in youth.

And one day when the strings

Act and take you to the one,

I'll stand by your side

And pray that good fortune comes.

But if my presence is too much,

If my face breaks you more,

Just command me darling,

I'll vanish; I will go.

For now, do not weep,

Smile for the rainbows to come.

And please, please do not curse me,

And tell me I bear no heart.
