Stupid school. Stupid party. Stupid everything!!
Can't believe my mom is making me go again! Oh, I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself! I'm Katie! Also known to my other classmates : Nerdy Katie.
My mom is the best wedding planner you could get. She holds 2 HUGE parties every year for her clients and friends. I never really look forward to those kind of things. I hate dressing up, caking my face with makeup etc. I'd rather go to the library and read, or do my advanced math work. They say advanced math is hard but its really easy!
"Hello?" I answer after ignoring the other 2 missed calls by my best friend Miranda.
"Omg, Katie I can't believe your mom let me come this time!! I'm going to wonders to your face! Your gonna look absolutely beautiful! I love the fact that its a masquerade party and-"
"Miranda! Calm down. Now that I've allowed to to do my makeup I'd prefer if you don't cake my face up! And come now!" I whine, knowing her it'll take a long time to get ready.
"Alright see ya babe."
After I end the call with her, I decide to ask my mom for a dress since I was too lazy to get one.
I walk down into the kitchen where she's busy cooking god knows what.
"Hey mom, do you think I could borrow one of your gowns?" I ask politely, she hates it when I ask her to borrow her VERY expensive gowns.
"I already have yours picked out! Go into my room and get ready! We have to leave soon, honey!" I run out of the kitchen and walk out of the front door to see if Miranda's here yet.
To my surprise, her car makes it down my street and on my driveway.
I giggle as she jumps and walks toward me. One retarded friend I have.
"Omg I'm so excited Katie! Lets go get ready!" I grab her hand and we both run up the stairs and into my room.
"Miranda you get ready first I need to go get my dress from my moms room." I walk speedy fast, and as soon as I lay eyes on the beautiful gold gown I freeze instantly.
Gold and sparkly. It was glittery at the top and tight, then flowing at the bottom. The front laid past mid-thigh and the back went down to my feet. The dress would accent with my emerald green eyes and long highlighted blonde hair.
"It's beautiful." I whisper to myself.
Now, I'm excited! You know maybe this will end up to be a great night. Just me and Miranda!
"Miranda! Look, what my mom got for me!" I run to her, before I see her beautiful green gown.
"Omg, Miranda you look stunning." I compliment. I always envied Miranda she's always been the prettier one. He long brunette hair accompanied her cute gown.
"Thanks babe! Oh my Jesus lord, that gown will look fabulous on you! By the way, I got the masks! Both black and fierce!" She grabs the masks and growls. I laugh at her attempt to look 'sexy'
"Oh god you're funny! Now help me get this on!"
After 2 hours of doing my hair and applying makeup, I'd say that I definitely did not look like Nerdy Katie. I feel sexy!
"Thank you so much Miranda! I love you!" I tightly hug her. She really turned me into a princess.
"No problemo babe! Now get your mask on and let's get going!" I exit after her walking downstairs.
I hear my phone ring loudly, and quickly run back into my room to receive the call.
"Hello?" I answer without checking caller id.
"Hey Hun, listen I had to leave early to make sure everything is in place. So just meet me here alright?"
"Alright mum, bye!" I hang up and run down the stairs after Miranda who waits at the front door studying her phone like a math textbook.
"What happened mands?" I ask curiously.
"Austin's coming." I gulp, Austin Rey.
"A-Austin?" I repeat.
"Yes! Apparently his mom is getting married again! And your mom is the wedding planner."
Austin Rey. How could I forget him? Austin Rey is every girls dream boy. The most popular guy in my school, and a total player. In elementary school we were good friends, until high school came along and stole him away. I had a crush on him in grade nine until I found out how much an asshole he was.
"Katie?" Miranda shakes my hand, taking me out of my thoughts.
"Sorry, um let's go! And you know what who cares if he comes! We'll have a great time!" I grab her hand and run to my beautiful car.
A Mercedes Benz. My baby! I got it when I turned 16! Lets just say when my dad decided to leave me, my mom decided to spoil me a bit.
"Katie, how will we know who he is when we get there?" She asks as we reverse out of my driveway.
"I'll know. And we'll run the opposite way!" I say with a wink making her laugh. I know how much Miranda hates Austin. When she found out I liked him she told me all the things he did with girls and how he broke their hearts. That's when I stopped liking him.
We finally reach after a 30 minute long drive. As excited as Miranda is she opens the door before I could actually park the car and runs inside.
Typical Miranda.
I throw my keys into my purse and walk into the venue. Wait no, scratch that its more like a castle.
"Katie! Over here!" I turn to the voice calling me, Miranda.
I grin at her and walk towards where she's seating.
"Well hello there beautiful." I turn to the voice so familiar, Austin. Austin Rey.
"Um, me?" I ask, does he know its me?
"Who else would I be talking to? Your the most beautiful girl I've seen tonight." He walks closer to me, way too close actually.
"Um thanks? Well I've got to go. Bye." I turn to walk away until a muscular arm wraps around my waist and pulls me back.
"Not so fast, I didn't get your name babe." He whispers so close to my lips.
"I-I d-don't k-know y-ou." I stutter, as he chuckles at my response.
"I get it, your listening to your mommy and not talking to strangers. How about we make a deal? If you give me one dance then you don't have to tell me your name? If you don't then... Heck, you don't have a choice!" He grins showing his perfect white teeth.
"I-"
"Great! I'll look out for you, don't worry!" He cuts me off and jogs away the opposite direction.
Omg, he doesn't know who I am. Heck, I bet he doesn't even acknowledge me at school. I couldn't help but smile. He finally noticed me.
"Katie!" I jump at the sound of Miranda calling me.
Oh god, I could not tell her about what just happened.
Austin Rey called me beautiful.
