Chapter Four: He's a Cocky One

"So basically, all I have to do is kill the giant robot, but....I can't kill it by myself?"

Shane scratched the back of his head thinking about my question. One of which, was apart of a series of questions that I'd been asking about the game since I got back onto it. The RPG was very cool in it's design and I even liked the name as it was a namesake of one of it's staple characters.

I didn't like said character though, I preferred the robotic type queen who let her subjects do the work for her.

"Yeah that's basically it to beat the level but, it's not that easy. The reason why you can't beat it alone is because there's a shit ton of MPC's in dungeon along with some traps that'll just have you wasting your time doing it alone. Unless your level 70 or some shit, then it's easy." he explained, but that only had my brows furrowing at my screen as the game page on my screen was alive with action as our team entered the second stage of the dungeon. It helped that Shane and I were talking via video call and he'd been playing for much longer than me.

Our team went through the dungeon being forced to help each other out till we got to the boss stage. One giant robot was placed center stage. It was larger than the screen could accommodate, and the players were placed on a platform that only showed it from the chest up.

This was supposed to be my characters husband? King of the robot race?

Well I guess small women like big men. Wink wink, nudge nudge.

I'm such a nerd.

The kings hand began to rise in what looked like an attack, but I couldn't be sure. "Shane, we what the hell does it do with it's hands?" I asked right as it slammed it's fists down as we tried to take out the power chords. Everyone was forced into the air as a stun and then dropped back down.

"Damnit! Well, to be short, that one stuns you, but if he slides one hand from the other side of the screen to the next's, then he slaps you to that side." I nodded and raised a brow at his hanging tongue that was a sure of his focused attention on the game.

"Dog" I muttered under my breath. The combo buttons being pressed fervently in my mission to knock out the main power core while it was exposed.

"I'm sorry what was that? I didn't hear you" I rolled my eyes at the comment.

"Oh hush, nothing you need to hear. Why aren't you helping me anymore? The core is exposed, it doesn't stay that way. We have to keep hitting it." the frustration was apparent in my voice. Damn cores wouldn't just go down and even now, the main was was going back down.

"Oh, I would get out the way if I were you."

My eyes widened and I looked around to see non of my team members near me right before I was tossed to the edge of the screen, half of my hp points gone. "What!? He bitch slaps you? Really?! A warning would've been nice!"

Shane chuckled and pretended to wipe away a tear from his eye and continue to attack the remaining cores to shut the rogue bot down. "Well, I did warn you, but I don't have to tell you that now do I?"

Cocky son of a-

I mana broke character and flew her straight to the main core as it reappeared. The boss getting charged up for a plasma beam that would surely engulf us all only made the situation greater as I executed a highly damaging move to the core along with some help for the other players.

The light of the beam shone through the screen, but the stage completion text scrolled in front of all of us and let out a celebratory 'Yes!' and smirked into the camera.

"Hah!, just saved all our buts, and now we don't have to come here again."

Shane only looked at me with that strange look he gives and then replaced it with his usual "evil" grin before speaking.

"Oh? We haven't even gone back for the item drops that we need for the other quests."

"................."

I was beginning to hate this cocky bastard.

Anyways, Sorry it's so short. I'm going to try these get these chappy's out as fast as I can write them so when I get to the relationship part, I can actually slow down. I look forward to you guys reading it!
