Thumb Wars, Small people and Sortings

ELIZABETH JAMIE BLACK overslept.

Normally, that wouldn't be all that bad, seeing as the blonde didn't go to school yet, and her godfather and "uncle", Remus Lupin, was currently unemployed so he wasn't working and stayed at home with her, but today was the day she was supposed to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy.

And she was still lying in bed, next to Remus who was sleeping soundly without a care in the world.

The night before, Lizzie had begged her uncle to let her sleep in his room with him as it was the last night she was at home and he just couldn't resist her shimmering blue eyes, filled to the brim with unshed tears.

He was gonna miss her so much.

Slowly, Lizzie blinked and looked around as she yawned slightly before he gaze fell onto the clock.

It was 10:41 am.

Way too early to be awake, she thought and cuddled back into her uncle's side, as he placed his arm around her, still asleep.

It's 10:41 am.

FUCK.

"WAKE UP! UNCLE MOONY WAKE UP WE OVERSLEPT!"

The little blonde yelled, jumping out of the bed and running out of his room into her own, to change into the clothes she picked out to wear for her first day several months ago.

With a confused expression Remus shot up from his bed, only to find his goddaughter gone.

After he checked the time, he used various curse words he had forbidden Lizzie to use, before he changed his clothes with a movement of his wand and scrambled around their appartment, collecting the last of Lizzie's things while the girl herself came running out of the bathroom, a little bit of toothpaste she hadn't seen still sticking to the corner of her mouth, and put on her shoes before waiting impatiently at the door for her uncle, continuously tapping one foot on the floor.

It was 10:50.

Soon after, the man came running, her suitcase in his left hand, her owl Regulus in his cage in her uncle's right hand, Remus' brown hair disheveled as opposed to Lizzie's perfectly styled blonde hair.

They both checked each other's appearances, to see if they looked presentable enough to leave, which was essentially Lizzie's decision, seeing as she made all the fashion decisions in their little family.

"Kneel."

Lizzie ordered, and her uncle knelt before her as she ran her small fingers through his hair until it looked presentable enough.

The werewolf chuckled at his goddaughter's bossy demeanor and pulled a tissue out of his pocket to clean up the tooth paste on the side of her mouth.

It was 10:52.

"There. All done."

He smiled and she smiled back at him before taking his hand in hers.

"You ready, Liz?"

Remus asked with a raised eyebrow and the small blonde nodded confidently.

"I was born ready."

She said, and he rolled his eyes while chuckling lightly before he apparated them to King's Cross.

Once they entered the train station they hurried through the barrier between platform 9 and 10, and her uncle lifted her suitcase into the train, making sure it didn't stand in anyone's way, without noticing two red-headed people he knew from what seemed like a lifetime ago, before turning back to Lizzie.
