It's Not A Bird

Dippers POV

Of course.
It wouldn't be summer at Gravity Falls without some weird happening to kick it off...

This will be me and Mabels third visit here and while I am excited to see my friends and family again, there are a few who I won't be able to see this time.
Wendy.
Wendy grew up too fast just like us. After she turned 18 and graduated, she moved away to go to her dream college. I'm happy for her, but I can't imagine Gravity Falls without her...this is going to be a long Summer.

"Come on Dip, don't be such a dipper downer! I'm sure this summer will be the best one of all!" Mabel exclaims.
"Haha, I know I know....it's just...never mind. It's nothing", I reply melancholily.
Mabel gives me a side look as we adjust into our familiar room at the 'Mystery Shack'.
She sighs and says ,"You're still thinking about Wendy not being here, huh bro-bro?"
I sigh in return with an unenthusiastic "yeah".
"Dips, I miss her a lot too, but look on the bright side! We have grunkle Ford and Stan, and soos. We even have Soos' new baby to be with! See! Bap." Mabel cheered, placing Soos' daughter on my face.
"Mabel, did you steal the baby and bring it up here?" I inquired.
"Maybeeeee, ah look she's saying Mabel!" She lifted the child up and marveled after it's incoherent babbles.
I rolled my eyes with a smirk on my face. I tell her to bring the baby back to Melody, Soos' wife, to which she sadly agrees.

A moment alone, in our old attic room. I still remember the first time we came here, I wasn't exactly ecstatic to be here. Now I see, it's precisely what I needed, give or take the whole apocalypse part and almost dying. Still, I don't think I would be who I am now without this town.
I get up from my bed to observe the familiar city from the triangle-shaped window. The smell of nature and water from the falls fills my senses, as well as the bright sun. I watch the birds from above fly around the tall, pine trees. I observe a particularly large one, thinking it to be another weird bird hybrid. I look closer to try and find out if I've seen it before. But...
Hands.
Legs.
Hair.
It's not a bird.
I frantically run out of the room, and down the stairs trying to unlock the front door.
"Woah, what's the big rush kid?" My Grunkle Stan asks me from his living room chair. I don't turn around and stay to explain, I simply yell,
"There's someone falling from the sky!!"
I run out of the tourist trap and look up to find them. I see them...right before they hit the ground.
'Holy shit' I thought. They have to be dead, there's no way they survived that. And then,
I hear it.
One of the most painful, agonizing screams I've ever heard. I stand there, glued to the ground, eyes widened. Too scared to take action.
"Dipper! What happened, why is there someone screaming??" I hear my sister say from the doorway of the shack.
"I....person....fell. They're hurt." I responded, not being able to make full sentences.
"What? We have to go help them!" Mabel exclaimed with no hesitation to run and assist whoever it was.
I finally snap out of my trance and go after her.
We follow the screams and grunts, trying to get closer through the forest.
"HELP!!!!-AHHHhhG," We hear them cry.
We run faster, getting closer and closer and closer..
I see her. A girl. Bloodied and covered with dirt and sweat. Mabel kneels down trying to lift her head, but the girl twitches in pain and almost falls out of Mabels grasp.
"Dipper, go tell Grunkle Stan to call an ambulance, hurry!!" Mabel called to me with a state of worry.
"R..right." I nod in anxiety and run back to the shack.

After the ambulance came, I noticed she passed out. I got worried at first noticing how she was silent, but was reassured when I saw her slow breathing. I wondered what would happen to her. Maybe Ford knows something about girls falling from the sky.

After awhile, we were able to see her. Me, Mabel, Grunkle Stan and Ford, all walked into the hospital room. I wasn't able to get a good look at her earlier, but now that I am I noticed something...
"She's beautiful." I said...wait I said that?!
I turn to my sister knowing she would give me a look...alas she was. I whisper back "sh-shut up."
We heard the door opening and was presented by one of the main nurses. Clipboard in hand, she asks "Pines family, right? Do you mind explaining what happened to this girl here?" We all looked at each other not knowing how to explain a girl falling from the middle of no where in the sky. Mabel, however...
"She fell from the sky!"
I face palm expecting the nurse to call us crazy and throw us in a psych ward. But instead she says "Alright."
I forget that this is Gravity Falls and people are probably used to the weirdness now.
"Sorry for all the trouble, but can you two sirs step outside for a moment, there are something's I'd like to discuss." The nurse asks to Stan and Ford. The twins look at each other and exit the room. "You two rascals stay in here." Grunkle Stan says to me and Mabel.
I take a seat next to the sleeping girl and observe her.
'She looks like Sleeping Beauty.' I thought.
'Wait, what? Stupid, Mason! You don't even know this girl!'
"Where do you think she came from?" Mabel inquired. "I don't know, but I'm glad she's still alive. How..."
"How what bro-bro?"
"....When I looked out the window, she was so high up I thought she was a bird. She shouldn't....how is she not dead?"
Right as I finished my sentence, I heard her stirring.
Her (h/c) hair falls away from her face as she try's to move.
"Mabel, she's waking up! Go get the nurse!" I exclaim. Mabel nods and runs out of the room.
The girl tries to sit up, only to grab her side in pain and collapse back down.
"Woah, hey it...it's okay just lie down." I say.
She slowly turns to me and opens her eyes. Those eyes. Those gorgeous, soft (e/c) eyes. As I look into her eyes, I see reassurance. Ever since than, I promised to myself that I would keep those eyes safe.

Woah, long chapter. I hope you like this one, it took me FOR E VER. So, yes, Wendy will not be in this story unfortunately, but we got melody and soos, they're the best Gravity Falls couple next to you and Dipper ;) lmao. ALSO, there will be explicit content in this story, so if you're not comfortable with that LEAVE (sorry).
