The phone in the room rang, separating us. I stood up and picked up.
-Hello.
-Hi, Tate, is that you?
-Iris, I said surprised. What the... How did you...
-Your mom gave me the number.
-Oh my god, great we'll be able to talk this is awesome!
I turned around and looked at Eden, we really had to finish this quiz.
-Hum Iris, I said embarrassed of having to hung up on her. I am kind of busy right now, I have to a work with a friend of mine.
When I said "friend", I saw Eden raising his eyebrows with a surprised Pikachu face.
-Is your friend a boy?
I hesitated before answering because I wanted to tell her, but she would have asked me thousands of questions and just wanted to talk with Eden right now.
-He may be a guy, whatever I really have to go. Bye!
-But Tate...
I hung up before she had the time to say anything.
-Did you just hang up on her?I nodded and sat next to him.
We talked for the next 4 hours about the rest of the test, which was really interesting. He was different than when we were at the cafeteria, more genuine. We had no other almost-kissing moment, but it was still amazing.
This is a sum up of what I learnt about him:
-His favourite movie: Back to the future (which is totally understandable because it is one of the best movies of all time)
-His favourite book: none, because he believed that reducing an entire universe of amazing books to a (his words) "freaking opinion-manipulating-judging list" was ridiculous
-His celebrity crush: (even though I said me, apparently, I was wrong) Beyoncé (so not original)
-Relationship status: single (thank god! wait...why was I happy that he was single!?)
-Siblings: sister, 6 years old
-He hates burritos (what's wrong with him!?)
-He doesn't believe in afterlife (another disagreement with me)
-Number of exes: just 1 (he did not tell me how and when it ended)
Another hundreds of information were shared but you may not be interested in those😉 (not yet at least).
When he left at around 1pm, I was happy and confused. It was a weird situation, something I have never been through. I've always been sure about everything because my parents raised to know what I want. But at this precise moment, I could not have been more lost. My mind and the rational part of me told me this was absolutely crazy, I almost kissed someone I've just met. But something inside me was telling me to trust him that he was a good person.
So, I went to bed with my mind full of thoughts.
-----------
The rest of the week went by fastly. I was always with the other dingus who is supposed to be my sidekick. We did not have other occasions to talk about deep stuff.
He was into the public-Eden mode, which was annoying but kind of cute in the same time. Multiple times I surprised him in staring at me during quite a long time. Everybody was curious about how I did what I did because apparently Eden did not have as a habit to get so close with a person in a week. I made a couple friends who were about to get graduated as well, they seemed strange but kind of cool.
