The other Man (1), Apply some pressure (2), Fishing for a dream (3), Silent Sea (alternative ending).

I wouldn't even know where to begin with this trilogy. I think it might be the first book I've ever read on Wattpad and if not, it's the first one that touch me so deeply that I started to write comments and couldn't turn my phone off at night because I had to read more!!

goldenbootshersh is a phenomenal writer, she writes characters that you can identify with and situations that gives you goosebumps all over. I've went through all the emotions reading her work, from crying because she took me back to my saddest heartbreak to laughing so hard because of Layla's (or Van?? Depends how you see it!) witty sense of humour! Talking about Layla (her main character), if I HAD to name the one thing that makes this book such a great piece of work is her. It's the type of protagonist that you see yourself in, that you wanna be friends with and that mostly you want to see get her happy ending. The evolution of Layla through the books is something that the writer should be so immensely proud of.

She recently started publishing the first chapters of the final book in the series. If you haven't read the first two volumes yet, do it now!! I would give everything to be in your place and read them for the first time again. (When I have nothing else to read, I often go back to my favourite chapters and read them again. Some might say I'm obsessed)

Special mention for her alternative ending called Silent Sea, I would however recommend having a few tissues on hand just in case. You've been warned.

Q&A

What is the first book that made you cry?

I don't think I've cried reading a lot of books. I think the two that almost made me cry were The Book Thief, and Marian Keyes' This Charming Man.

Does writing energize or exhaust you?

Everything exhausts me! But I guess it depends on what I'm writing; if it's something that's flowing really easily like when I was writing Silent Sea and I couldn't type quick enough, then I definitely feel energised, but if I'm writing something that seems to be fighting back, then I find that really draining.

If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?

Stick with it. Forget that guy who's too old for you and who will definitely break your heart, and keep writing and rewriting that story you love so much.

What's your favorite under-appreciated novel?

I really am not much of a reader anymore thanks to my illness making it harder to concentrate - I choose to write over reading, which makes me sad because I loved to read. But! My favourite book is one called December by Phil Rickman. It's based around this fictional band who all have psychic abilities, and how they get tied in with this abbey in Wales that is cursed. It's one of the few books as an adult that I've read over and over. It's not usually my sort of genre, but it's a great read if you like supernatural stories.

How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?

I have 2 half finished (ffad and the styles twins), and 1 unpublished that I plan on reworking from a John Lennon fic into a non-fanfic story that will also be loosely based on The Other Man.

What's the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?

Sex! I recently wrote a smut scene from Harry's pov, and I realised I will never really know how sex feels from a guy's perspective, so knowing what words to best describe the feelings was definitely harder.
