One for the Ages, More of you, Act two, And so it goes, The Lingerie Experiment and so much more by SusieMC76
I love this author so much, she always comes up with great stories. I loved Samantha and Harry from « And so it goes + Act two » I remember reading it and finding it so beautiful how Samantha kept trying even though Harry was so incredibly sad. It was very touching, I highly recommend this series and I think there might be more coming!!
« One for the ages + More of you » are also really great. Elizabeth (her main character) and Harry always keep me on my toes!! Elizabeth has a lot of issues that I can relate to and it's interesting to see them working through those as a couple.
Special mention to her short story called "The Lingerie Experiment". It's eight chapters that are very very hot!! Romance at it's finest.
Q&A
What is the first book that made you cry?
I read fiction but not a whole lot. I read Drew Barrymore's autobiography Little Girl Lost when I was young and I bawled through most of it.
Does writing energize or exhaust you?
Energizes. 100%. I never thought anyone would want to read anything that came out of my imagination. The fact that I have such loyal followers who spend hours making it through everything I've posted makes me want to write more and write constantly.
If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
Don't stop. No matter what anyone tells you. I was told by a high school yearbook advisor that I wasn't good at it and I should pick another career. It devastated me. I stopped writing and didn't start again for a really long time. Don't ever let anyone kill your dreams like that. Use the doubt as motivation to get better.
What's your favorite under-appreciated novel?
I don't know if I'd say it's my favorite, but I read the After books. I know for a lot of 1D fans and Harry fans they have a lot of issues with them, but I didn't think they were that bad. imaginator1D did a good job with Hardin's character arc, I thought.
How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?
Everything is unpublished...unless you count Wattpad as published. And I generally don't write half-finished things. I see them through to the end no matter how hard it is.
What's the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?
Sex scenes. I have no idea what sex feels like for a man. LOL
Have you ever edit something out of a book and regretted it afterwards?
No. If I edit something out it usually ends up in another book anyway.
How do you select the names of your characters?
A friend named Elena from Evening the Score. I named Emily because in the first scene I wrote for Until I Find You Again I heard Harry say "Em" clear as a bell in my head. I chose Samantha's name after I chose her face and decided it fit. Elizabeth just sounded like a lawyer to me so that's how she got her name. Maisie was a name I saw on a TV show and I wanted to use it. I always thought Molly fit with Niall as a couple...I don't know why. Chroi is the only name I did actual research on. I wanted her name to be decidedly Irish and unique. So I looked up Gaelic words for affection and Chroi kept coming up...so...voila.
Do you read your book comments? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
Yes, all of them. I try to use the constructive negative ones as ways to improve. A lot of the time people comment yelling and it always makes me smile. I know they're angry at the character, not me. If you're pulling those kinds of emotions out of people, that's generally a good thing. However, if people are rude for the sake of being rude, I tend to simply delete the comment and move on.
