Tallest Zim (Invader Zim Fanfiction)

Zim watches dib leave the room with a conflicted look on his facem before getting up and following him a moment later, the door to their room slides open and zim finds dib sitting half curled up on the bed with a few tears dripping down his face. Zim didn't like the feelings that came with watching dib cry. It hurt, like invader training, but very different at the same time.

Dib was feeling a mix of emotions like someone put his brain in a blender, he was mostly lost somewhere between anger and hurt but there might be a little betrayal, or even fear in the weird tornado of emotions he was having at the moment. 'Zim shouldn't have done that, why did he do that?'  He thinks painfully. 'I mean, we fight all the time, but this feels different, more serious,' He speculates. Why does this sting so bad?' He thinks to himself, lost in his own mind as he tries to sort out everything.

Dib looks up at zim and quickly wipes his tears away "go away space-boy." he hisses at zim, sounding more defensive than aggressive, he wanted to be alone.

Zim sits down on the bed next to dib and stares at him for a moment.

"I know you dont have ear holes, but you're not deaf, i told you to go away." Dib huffs staring at the cage in the corner, it was covered and the creature inside was sleeping for now.

Zim gently takes dib's face in his hands and tilts his head so that he's looking at zim and dib lets him, a bit confused

"You're so beautiful, even when you're sad."

Dib looks quite confused, that comment caught him off guard "what-"

Zim leans in and gently presses his lips against dib's.

Dib's first reaction is suprise, which is followed by his mind going blank, and then his head feels like it's spinning, he has no clue what to think of whats happening.... but he kisses back without thought, and a bit of pink blush develops on his cheeks.

Zim is just completely lost in the moment  enjoying every second of it, it was odd, but, nice? In a strange way.

After a moment dib pulls away and starts stuttering with confusion, he had no idea why that just happened, and he was struggling to even process it, let alone talk about it

"What-, wh- why-, what was that?!"

Zim blinks, not exactly sure what to say. "I was trying to make you feel better!" His face turns a bit purple in embarrassment, he was a bit confused himself.

"Why did you think that would make me feel better?!" Dib's blush deepens in a mix of embarrassment and frustration.

"I dont know! On earth in your weird human high-skool, sometimes when a human's friend was sad they would hug or kiss them! I didn't even really think about it, it just happened! I didn't mean to hurt you, and i dont like to see you sad so I tried to fix it! I wasn't really thinking it through!" He crosses his arms and huffs, he was trying to help, this wasn't the reaction he'd wanted.

Dib blinks and sits there on the bed with a blank expression on his face while he processes what zim said,  before cracking a smile and starting to laugh. "you idiot!" He says giving him a playful shove "this is one of the things I love about you, you try so hard even when you don't know what you're doing... even if you're lost in the dark, you still try to confidently walk forward,  you're too headstrong for your own good...." he touches his face again, blood was still dripping down his chin, he quickly wipes it away, and it streaks onto his hand like paint. "that was a pretty deep cut, its probably gonna scar, you're lucky I didn't punch you for that." He comments chuckling. 'any other day i actually might have, but this is the anniversary of zim and I leaving earth, I might be a little extra emotional today because of it.' he wonders to himself,
