In this pack the order is Alpha, Commander, Beta , Gamma.
Damon's POV
Seeing Cassie taking down one warrior after another I realize how strong she is, no wonder I made her my Commander. She's not only strong physically but emotionally as well. She's been through stages of life that would break toughest of people . One thing she's good at is hiding her emotions. Ever since her mother got murdered she grew up learning to not show emotions and she releases all that she feels in training grounds.
I remember the day she first had her panic attack. She was only 13 years old and i didn't know what to do so. I felt so hopeless while she went through the hardest moments in her life. If my parents hadn't intervened she would have never survived this torture.
"Was she okay last night son?" My father,Lucian, asked coming to me.
"Had a panic attack after she woke up from one of her nightmares." I replied grimly.
"Panic attack? But she said she was alright, and that's why we allowed her to leave her medications. She proved herself in front of the doctor also. " he asked shocked
"Yes. She said she was alright but she wasn't she was just tried of putting us up with her tension and lied to us. Her nightmares are the sole reason for her condition. I don't know when she'll let go of her fears. I realized that the moment something relates to her past she breaks down. I don't know what to do."
" Damon, i just want our Cassie back. Happy and carefree like before her mother's death. " he said
"I Know Dad but for that we need a miracle and we need it fast." I said looking at Cassie as she beats yet another warrior.
"Alpha the royal guards have arrived and they demand our children to take back to the palace." My beta , Nathanial, mind links me.
"I'm coming don't let them take anyone." I reply him cutting the mind link and running to the pack grounds to see royal guards randomly pushing children in a line. The head leader slapped a child for not leaving her mother. I let out a loud growl and in a second he was pinned down by Cassandra with a knife on his throat.
"Commander! Let me handle this. " I command she lets go hesitantly growling at him.
"Stupid, worthless bitch! how dare you? Do have any idea of the price you have to pay attacking The head leader of the guards?" He growls loudly.
"We know the price but remember you are in my pack and I will not allow anyone to disrespect my pack's children or my commander so unless you want a revolt i suggest you mind your language. Now, state your reason for being here." I said lowly but with authority.
"The King wants children 14-18 years of age to be taken to the royal Kingdom for training as tradition. Which your thick head has forgotten and you are wasting my time. Son a bitch Alpha my foot . I always hated the Alpha of Shadow Pack nothing but a piece of worthless shit." He seethes out . All my pack members growls loudly at him for insulting their alpha and in a moment he was lying limp with blood pouring out of his throat.Everyone gasped and looked at Cassandra as she killed him.
"What is the price of attacking him mommy?" some child asks her mother.
"Hearing at royal court in front of his royal highness King Knight." I replied looking at Cassandra while she cleaned her knife and made eye contact with me and her eyes showing nothing but emptiness as she was least concerned about the consequences of her actions.
"Son if there is going to be a miracle I hope it happens soon because we are in dire need of one right now." My father says lowly to me.
"I know Dad . I know." I replied still looking at Cassandra .
