( . . . . prologue! )
𝐈𝐍 𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐇, the rewritten copy
has finally   been published.
please mind that the following
page has been set on 7/4/1985

PRETTILY ENOUGH, the teenage dream stood falsely calm on the center of the stage, delightfully waving down at the crowd that beamed at the sparkle of her solemnly painted eyes.

it was almost bizarre to believe how poorly she was crumbling at what seemed to be her life's peak. who would think that the girl with the glamorously pristine background would trip on the heels that cost thousands of dollars to begin with?

definitely not her mother that was, for she was far too occupied with soaking on her daughter's fawns whilst the young girl herself miserably picked on the threads of her gown hiddenly. throat aching with sorrow, as (y/n) could've sworn she had tasted the hell dripping down her glossy lips.

yet her smile had remained sugar-coated as it was always meant to be, pushing back the humiliating sobs from erupting below the exhaustion in her orbs. she often disappointed herself; dare i say, even more than her mom ever was.

that alone explained why she was currently shuddering at the proximity of the older woman that took no remorse in standing so close to her child who after all this time, was so utterly proud of.

(y/n)'s eyes shine against her will at the thought.

and now, at his sight. she winced as she caught his piercing stare, murdering the same soul that she countlessly let him deteriorate.

her breaths began to clutter, seeing as everything around her faded into the unfamiliar blur of her tears. but it wasn't the pounding glare of the carousel light that frightened her sense of mind, nor was it her father's voice echoing into the distance as he spoke rubbish announcements into a microphone.

it was the way she simply never thought when she was around him, when she looked at him. not once did he make her question her sanity; and that was exactly her problem.
