"Come in, come in," she quickly spoke pulling us by our arms into the home. As soon as we were in mum shut the door behind her and locked it. The door had four locks on it and she quickly pushed them all into place before going to one of the curtains. She picked up the fabric and peeked through it for a second and let it fall back into place. It was pitch black in the whole house except for all the candles lit up all throughout the house. There was a fireplace up against the wall, next to it was a bookcase full of old novels I've never heard of. The other side of the room had a long black couch, in front of it was a chocolate coffe table. Then there was another couch acaross from the black one. Next to it was a small table with a kamp but it wasn't on. I walked into the next room, to reveal the kitchen. There was a silver fridge in the corner next to it were the marble countertops fill with lit candles. Then there was the sink with its long silver neck which was the faucet. After that there was the marble counter tops again. Hanging on the ceiling were the cabinets, white to match the kitchen. In the middle of the kitchen was a long white table, along with white chairs. Above it was a light but was not on. Calum followed me around as I placed my fingers delictely on the table afriad I would break it. I looked up at the ceiling and saw a window, the only window that wasn't covered. Odd. I walked around until I saw my mother staring at me at the stair cases. I walked over to her carefully. I felt I was being watched, or tested. who can stay the quietest? If you dropped a pin upstairs we would probably here it down here. My mum took me by the hand and walked up the stairs. She looked at Calum and he followed closely behind. On the walls going up stairs it was nothing but glass. i saw the trees, I saw aniamls scurrying around, I saw everything. It was truly beautiful. Once we were up there were three bedrooms. All their doors were open and I was easily able to see inside. Their walls were all made of glass. I saw everything. This time seeing a a flock of birds flying off. She took us into the room all the way at the end of the hall. There was a barcelona coucht in a neutral beige color up against the glass wall. There lied blankets of all sorts on it. On the shelf across from it was a small flat screen, with numerous amounts of movies, and CD's. Mum sat me down on the couch, and Calum closed the door behind us.
"It's safe now." Calum mumbled. Mum nodded her head and looked straight at me. She shook her head and looked back at Calum.
"What do you mean safe?Anyone can see us the wall is glass" I questioned
"The glass is only one way they can't see us." she slowly said whilist she kneeled down in front of me holding both my hands.
"Ava, I am so sorry." she whispered."I should've told you this a long time ago, I shouldn't have hid this from you, for so long." She looked outside and back at me. I gave her a confused look. "You're not my baby. I took you in and treated you like my own, but you're not mine." She looked at the floor the entire time. I was at a lost for words. You're not mine. My heart stopped. I wanted to open my mouth and ask so many questions but I knew she wasn't done. There's more to the story. This has to connect with me being a hybrid. My eyes went wide. "You're mother was a good women, which is why I don't understand why this had to happen to her. She fell madly in love with you're father. You're father was a vampire, he was my brother. Well not exactly my brother brother, we were all adopted you can say." she explained. "You're father he loved your mother. Love is not the word to describe what they had. You're mother was your father's life. It was his only reason of ceasing exsisting. They got married. You're mother wanted to live eternity with him but if she was human and he was immortal she wouldn't live forever. She wanted to become immortal, one of us. Your mother knew they could never have a baby because, well vampires are dead. It's impossible." She breathed out. "You're mother became pregnant somehow. You're father tried to convince her to get rid of you immediately because he knew and everyone else knew she would die. You fed off her, she wouldn't be strong enough to deliver. Her heart would give out." She explained. I listened very intentively as I felt my eyes get watery. " You are part vampire you feed off of blood, not just any blood, human blood. It's the most satisfying. You were killiing you're mother slowly but she didn't care because she wanted you, she loved you more than life itself." I paused sighed looking at me. "When it finally came time to deliver she was still alive somehow. But as you were coming out her heart stopped. We couldn't revive her. You're father's heart broke. He couldn't stand the thought of looking at you, let alone raising you. So I took you. He would've let you to die if he could." she wistfully said finally looking back at me. I hadn't realized I was crying. My lip trembled as the tears fell from my lids. I killed my mother. My father left me because I killed my mother.
