HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANJIRO! Since reader-chan hasn't met him yet I decided to do another update. Also the song has nothing to do with the chapter. This is just what I listen to to help me concentrate when I'm writing. Its really peaceful. I would definitely recommend listening to it when you need to get something done.

It had been a few weeks since you and Daido had made the agreement. As previously decided, he would always treat you to what ever food you wanted after you came over. Now, you weren't going to turn down free food, but you still had your respect for how hard he worked, so you never left him completely broke.
With all the time that the two of you had spent together, a genuine friendship had started to form. You both started to hang out on your own free will, not just when his Grandmother wanted you over. Yeah, you got on each other's nerves, but in the end you would just laugh it off because of the stupidity of the argument.
You had never really spent too much time with the kids in the village. You lived just far enough that people didn't want to take the time to come visit. It would have been extremely lonely without your brother to keep you company, but with him gone you no longer had many people to talk too. This new development of friendship absolutely trilled you, though you would never once mention that to Daido.
He was a brat sometimes, but in the end the boy had one of the biggest hearts in the world. His way of showing kindness was just different than others, and just a tad bit harsher. He was the epitome of tuff love.
Currently you were at his house, drinking tea with him and his Grandmother, who had asked you to call her Oba-chan. The topic of conversation had been light hearted and happy, that is until you had happened to mention his parents.
Their absences had bothered you a lot, but you could never find the right time to ask about it. The comfortable atmosphere immediately shattered, the two people at the other end of the table tensing. This caused you to panic, wondering if you overstepped your boundaries.
"I'm sorry for asking-"
"No, my dear, no need to apologize. We should have told you long ago. That way you could learn from our mistakes."
Ota-chan had a grim look on her face along with her grandson. This just worried you all the more.
"You see, my dear, they have passed due to the terrible surge that we call demons. You may not believe me, but I must tell you so that you not suffer the same fate. Daido was the only survivor."
"D-demons?"
"Yes, man eating demons that break into homes at night and devour the people inside. It is a sad, but true fact. They are quite real, and that is why I wish to give you this, for your safety. Daido has one of the same kind."
Ota-chan reached into a pocket in her kimono and pulled out something quite shiny. As she reached to give you the item you got a clearer view of the object. It was a ring made of silver, with a tint of purple, shaped in the form of an arrow. (A/N: I actually have this ring, lol) It looked quite expensive.
"I can't take this."
"Yes, my dear, you can, and you will. This ring is infused with wisteria blossom extract that the creatures absolutely hate. You are someone very precious to Daido and I. You are a sweet soul with a good heart. I would hate for any harm to befall you, especially when I could have prevented it."
