A/N : MUAHAHA, no! The Nezuko memes will never stop! Well, maybe they will next chapter. Also, for anyone who has read or is reading Ao Haru Ride, chapter 23 killed me. Like shattered my heart into a million little pieces.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You rubbed your full stomach with a satisfied hum. It was now late afternoon as you headed back towards the village, a slightly pissed off Igarashi trailing behind you.

"Who knew a girl could eat so much," he whispered to himself

"HEY! I heard that you jerk!"

"So I'm the jerk now. You're the one who ate through my whole week's earnings!"

"You told me that food was included! Its your own fault!"

"I DIDN'T MEAN A FULL THREE COURSE MEAL!"

"THAT WAS ALSO PAY BACK FOR THE KNOT ON MY HEAD"

    "I THOUGHT WE WERE EVEN!"

    "NOW  WE'RE EVEN"

You both continued to bicker, each remark getting on the other's nerves more than the last. as you continued deeper into the forest. You only stopped when you felt two eyes trained on your figure. A light chuckle notified you to their presence, and you snapped your head towards the sound.

There, standing in the front of a cozy looking home, was an older woman. She was staring at the two of you with a shit-eating grin that sort of freaked you out. Her eyes were a beautiful shade of blue, and the lady's snow white hair was braided into a bun.

"You two fight like a married couple," she stated with a wink towards your male companion.

"WE DO NOT!" You both yelled at the same time, your only response being a side ways glance.

"Alright then, I'm at least glad to see that Daido had found himself a friend," she replied with a sigh.

You gave her a baffled look before proceeding.

"Me, friends with this rude little shi-"

You were cut off when the boy himself slapped his hand over your mouth, cutting off your response. He gave you a pleading glance that said 'just go with it'. With a huff, you removed your hand and proceeded to talk to the old lady. That is, not before giving Igarashi your deluxe 'you own me' glare. It was quite practiced, because, lets just say, B/N had done some pretty stupid things in his life time that you were there to witness.

You tried to smile to the lady, but you were afraid that it turned into a grimace.

"Yes, me and, umm, Diado-kun are very close"

You glanced over at said male, almost as if asking if the use of his first name was alright. Yeah, the boy got on your nerves, but you weren't just going to be rude to him unless given a reason. Then you would be just as bad as him. He gave you a slight nod, before turning his attention back to the lady.

"Hmm, I see," The old lady said, still keeping her eyes trained on you. "I would invite you to stay for dinner, but I'm afraid the the sun will be setting soon. It's not safe to wander around after dark."

"YES, I mean yes. I should be heading back," You said, still wanting an explanation as to why, exactly, you were posing as Daido's friend.

"Ah, yes. I'll escort you," he stated in a polite tone.

What the heck? He was literally yelling at you a few minutes ago, saying that you ate too much, but now he's offering to walk you home. A baffled look made its way onto your face, but you didn't take notice. You only snapped out of it when Daido pulled your arm, leading you into the forest.

Once you were out of earshot, you decided to get your answers.

"What was that about?!" You whisper screamed

"Look, Oba-san  has been bothering me as long as I can remember about getting a friend, but it's gotten worse recently," He explained as you walked onto a familiar path. "It was the perfect opportunity to get her off my back, and get my revenge for stealing all of my money."

"Hey! I thought we were even!"

    "I never said that..."

    "But I did!"

The boy sighed, and ran his fingers through his jet black hair.

"How about we make a deal"

"It depends on what kind of deal we're talking about"

"Oba-chan is going to want me to bring you over sometime. Every time you act like my 'friend' I'll buy you food. How about that?"

You put your hand on your chin, thinking it over thoroughly. You would get food, and that was great. Plus, you didn't think that being Daido's fake friend would be too much of a hassle. Oh how wrong you were.

    "Fine"

With that a genuine smile showed on the boy's face. In all honesty he was kind of excited to be friends with you, even if it was only a ruse. Yeah, you had quite the temper, but he didn't really like being alone all the time, even if he said he didn't mind.

"Alright then," Daido stated as he stopped in front of the back of your house. You hadn't even noticed that you had arrived there. "Meet me at the same tree, alright? I'm sure Oba-chan will want you for lunch right away. Oh, and don't eat everything on the table. We've got to eat as well, ya know."

And.....the Diado Igarashi we all know and love is back

He left you steaming with only a feint goodbye. This boy really did get in your nerves, but at the same time your day was pretty eventful. A smile crossed your face as you realized that you had enjoyed it, even if most of your talks had ended in an argument.

You sort of liked the sound of that.
