A/N: Once again, this song has absolutely nothing to do with this chapter. For some odd reason it inspired me to write. I get inspiration from the weirdest places.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your legs moved faster than you ever thought possible. The trees were quite literally blurred past you. The crunch of fallen leaves underneath your feet filled the silence of the empty forest. You couldn't sense the unknown being pursuing you, but you weren't going to take any chances.

So, you continued on. Originally you had attempted to make it to Daido's house, but you soon decided to not endanger them. Those people had suffered enough.

Thats when you remembered their warning of demons. Was that what attacked your family? That was the only solution that you could think of. What else could be so heartless to slaughter innocent people, much less the severely ill?

A shiver ran down your spine as you remembered the scene. You still were having trouble processing it. Your mind knew that your parents were dead, but your heart was still trying to tell you that they were alive. There was a battle going on inside your head, and it tired you out even more than your running.

You finally determined that the coast was clear, and stopped for a break. You had always been good at determining when someone or, rather, something was nearby. Your brother called it a sixth sense. At first you didn't believe him, but eventually you learned that sensing other people was easy, and could be done without sight, hearing, or feel. All in all it was pretty useful, especially when B/N tried to sneak up on you.

Leaning up against a tree and breathing heavily, you went over everything that had happened in the last hour.

    You father died

    Your mother was beheaded

You were kicked out of your own house

Who knew that things could go down hill so fast. You looked up, and realized that you recognized none of your surroundings. Fantastic, you can add it to the list of things that went wrong.

Everything was just too much for you to handle. Your brain was going on overdrive just trying to process it all.

They were dead. The people who cared and loved you since the day you were born. You would never hear your father's laugh again, or see your mothers smile. They were gone, killed by a vicious thing called a demon.

You choked back a sob, everything finally sinking in. They were truly gone, and what had you done? You had run like the coward you were. The what ifs continued to absorb your mind as tears streamed down your face. It was all over.

Your happiness had shattered and there was nothing you could do about it.
