"Are we there yet" I said adjusting my seatbelt. We've been driving for three hours now and I am bored out of mind and unfortunately for me I am stuck in the back seat with my older brother who is snoring like there is no tomorrow.
Dad is driving with mum in the passenger seat and my elder sister is following behind us in her car.
Can you imagine Liz got her own car, I have been begging my parents for days to get me a car but no I have to wait till I'm eighteen

I get it that Liz got hers when she was eighteen and now she is twenty but times change. I know friends who have cars and the are sixteen ...like me
If I had my own car my ears won't be tortured by my dear brother's snoring. Why couldn't he drive with Liz , I'm sure she would be more than glad to have him on board.
"Soon honey" my dad answers for the millionth time
"Ok" putting on my snore proof ear plugs also known as my air pods.
I start to play 'who cares' by Iann Dior hoping it will soothe me and mostly block out the noise in the background
5 minutes later(imagine this with the voice of the narrator in spongebob)
"Are we there yet?"
"You asked that like five minutes ago" mum says obviously tired
"This reminds me of the moving 'Are We There Yet' except there is no one snoring" I said with a smile
Dad chuckled while mum just shook her head in amusement
"Can you guys keep it down" oh look sleeping beauty is awake
"Speak for yourself. " I muttered
" I'm trying to sleep" he said yawning
"I think you have done enough sleeping. I mean how are you able to sleep with the car jumping up and down" I exclaimed
"Jumping up and down?" he asked in amusement
"You know what I mean" I brushed him off "I'm surprised I can still hear you with all the noise you have been making" I muttered
"Are you trying to say I snore?! " he asked fully awake now
"Snore is an understatement more like a frog got stuck in your throat and was calling for help" I said nonchalantly
"Well still better than yours" he said combing his hair with his hands
"Excuse me i don't snore!"
"That's not what the neighbours say" he said with a smirk
"I-
"We are almost here"
Finally
"Ok get your stuffs out of the car" dad said carring a box
I just stood there mesmerized by the beauty of my house
How did dad manage to afford this
"From my new job"
"Huh"
" My new job"
"Wait you heard that?"
"Nope but you are like an open book" he said matter of fact
"Now hurry up and go help your brother unpack"
"Yes sir"
