Annie's P.O.V

It was a nice day today. It was perfectly warm, no wind, and the sky was bright blue with no clouds. Me and Carl were outside doing what we were told. We had to feed the pigs water plants and kill walkers near the fence.

When we were done we just sat under the guard towers and stared out into the forest.

We sat in comfortable silence when we heard the prison sirens going off and gunshots. Me and Carl ran inside while getting our guns ready.

We followed the gunshots to cell block D and when we got there, it was a site you would want to unsee.

People were being tore apart even children.

Me and Carl started shooting. Everyone that was alive and had a weapon handy was in there helping.

One by one each walker went down.

I was shooting ahead of me not wanting to oay attention to behind me when a walker grabbed me and tackled me to the ground.

My gun slid away out of reach and I didn't have my knife.

I was struggling to push it off and two more walkers came towards me.

At this point I was ready to give up

I was getting ready to let the walker on top of me fall when an arrow went through its head and two bullets through the other two walkers.

I pushed the walker off, stood up and grabbed my gun. I turned and saw Daryl and Carl staring at me. I ran and gave them a hug and thanked them.

We finished killing each walker and ones who were bit or scratched and made sure everyone else was okay.

We carried the ones who we knew to go barry them. Unfortantly, one of them I knew well. His name was Lucas and he was only 8. I decided to barry him while Rick, Daryl and Tyresse barried everyone else. After that we burned ones that we didn't know and went inside to discuss how this happened.

"How the hell did that many walkers get in there?!" Daryl asked furious.

"Patrick.. He turned and when I shot him walkers from the tombs must have came in." Hershel said realizing what had really happened.

We were all silent. Carl looked upset. Patrick was one of his friends even though Carl thought he was weird.

Later in the evening we all had dinner in silence. It was pretty awkward.

When I was done I went to the guard tower since it was my turn to take watch. Daryl came up later and sat next to me.

"Lucas was a little jokester." he said. I smiled. He reminded me of my sister Riley. They both had a golden brown color to their hair and blue eyes. They both were funny but also stubborn.

"I remember helping Hershel take care of him. He was like a little brother to me." I said looking down to where Lucas was burried.

"I could tell he thought of you as a sister too." Daryl said to me smiling. I turned to look at him and smiled.

"Alright little kickass, go get some sleep its my turn to take watch." I laughed and shook my head at his nickname he had for me. He was like a father to me.

I went down the guard tower and inside. I saw Carl alone cleaning his guns. I decided to join him since he was alone and I needed to clean mine to.

I saat down and he looked up at me then back down at his gun.

I sighed. He has been acting like this ever since I was attacked.

"Carl, don't act like it was your fault because it was-" he cut me off.

"But it is because I shouldn't have left you. I should have stayed with you and helped you stay on watch, but I didn't." he said.

"Carl it wasn't I should have payed more attention to my surrondings instead of watch was infront of me." I said.

He stayed quite and finished his last gun as did I.

"Let's go to bed."I said. He nodded and took my hand as we headed to our cell. We took off our sherrif's hat and climbed into bed.

He held me close and kissed my forehead.

He was out and slowly I fell asleep.
