8th Day - 9:32 - The storm of wrong notes

"Who is she?"
"I dunno, she looks like a new student."
"She looks kinda weird."
"I always see her in the music room after school, playing the piano. Is that all she does?"
"Probably. She doesn't even talk. That's why she's lonely."

"Piano freak. All you do is play all day."
"Be a kid! Stop playing that damn instrument!"
"It's like she's possessed... There's no saving her now."
"She's a robot. An emotionless robot."

All my life, people treated me like I was a plastic bag tumbling across the street. No one cared about me. Everyone saw me as a "piano freak" who does nothing but play piano all day. I was naturally a shy person ever since I was an orphan. The kids at the orphanage spite me because all the workers there enjoyed the way I played the piano. They eventually got jealous and grew hatred towards me because I stole their attention.

I didn't have many friends—if not, at all. The piano was the only thing that comforted me. That's why I was always happily tapping away its keys without a care in the world. The piano at my old orphanage patiently waited for me like an old friend I never had.

Before making a name for myself, people would hiss ugly remarks about me. Saying that I won't be a classical pianist because I'm a freak. Those were all stupid and irrelevant comments back then but even if I knew that my heart still ached.

Thankfully, I was successfully able to make a name for myself as a classical pianist. Those spiteful criticisms came to a close and I haven't heard much ever since.
