Our blue 2007 Toyota Camry pulled into the front entrance of the hospital. A podcast about paranormal events played in the background. The podcast was called Lore. The episode we were listening to was about a state hospital in Massachusettes. Of course, it didn't exist anymore, but the stories about the horrors done to innocent people there where enough to keep someone from sleeping. You could still find a graveyard with stones for all of the people murdered by doctors who thought they were helping.
We pulled around the back of the hospital. The back parking lot was empty, and a few drops of rain started to fall on the windshield. On the wall to the left, there was a large door, similar to the ones on garages.
My mom pulled up to the door and took out a card to show to a small camera. "Megan Artison, and Jeremy Artison. He made the decision to join the Warringtons, and I am showing him around the lab. The parts where he is permitted".
"Have Jeremy check-in with Dr. Red before going anywhere. Dr. Red will give him access to very few rooms. Jeremy will not be able to enter any working rooms or containment rooms. Make sure to stay clear of the D-wing and floor 3". A female voice came through a small speaker to the right of the camera.
The door opened, and my mom drove in. Inside was the size to fit an 18-wheeler, and nothing more. I didn't see any traces of a lab.
Our car came to a stop and the door closed, leaving us in complete darkness. The noise of a buzzing machine came to my ears and the car started moving down.
After about ten seconds we came to a stop. Fluorescent lights turned on, revealing space for one car to park. Printed on the wall were the words 'Megan J. Artison', written underneath it was 'Head Scientist of Test and Distribution'.
She pulled into the spot and parked.
"Is this your private spot"? I unblocked my seatbelt.
"Yeah, each employee has their own parking spot, based on their level of work". She turned off the car, "Because I'm one of the head scientists, I get one of the good spots". My mom got out of the car.
Next to the door leading out of the parking spot was a small screen with a spot to slide a card. My mom slid her identification car in the spot, and her name popped up on the screen. It went away after a few seconds.
The next thing that showed up on the screen was a keypad with numbers. On the top right of the screen was '+84'. My mom put in a number after thinking a few seconds.
"What was that"? I asked once the door unlocked.
"We have to put in a code to unlock the door. Each person is given a number, and we have to do what it tells us to, so we can get out code for the day. In today's case, we had to add 84 to our number. I'm not going to tell you my number, for security reasons". We walked down a staircase.
"You have really high security here". I looked at the third security camera I had seen in the staircase so far.
"We do a lot of classified work. Speaking of that, you can't say anything about this to anyone, got it"?
"Yeah, got it".

A/n~ Ok, y'all, sorry I haven't updated in forever, I just wasn't feeling motivated. Here's a short chapter to tide you over while I write the next one. The next part is going to be important, so I want it to be good (I'm not sure how many chapters the next part is going to be, probably one or two). Anyway, bye for now!
