CHAPTER 4

As I pull into the driveway, I notice my mother's car missing. It was past four which meant she should've already clocked out of work, but knowing how the traffic could get, I assume she would be home soon.

Shrugging the matter off, I jump out the car and open the trunk to retrieve our sports bags. I tossed Tiff the keys since she was the closest to the front door, knowing I had to retrieve the mail anyway. Lord knows I didn't feel like hearing my mom rant today and I knew Tiff didn't either.

Walking back down the driveway, I hear my next door neighbor, Isaac, whistle. I roll my eyes and reposition my bag to where it covers my backside and open the mailbox. There is the usual bills and junk mail, so I makes sure I get everything and pull the handle back down.

As I'm walking back up the driveway, I see Isaac jogging over to me . I try to walk faster, but my thighs cry from the extreme squats today at practice. Once he finally stops beside me, I try my hardest to hide my expression. I really didn't want to be bothered with another guy right now.

"Well, hello, London. You looking mighty fine... mhmm, what you been doing." I glare at him and his attempts to get a glimpse of my behind.

"What do you want Isaac?"

"I want you, baby girl. I mean, after all, you are single."

As he attempts to wrap his arms around my shoulder, I maneuver around him while bending his arm around his back. As I begin to threaten him, I see my mother's car pull into the driveway.

"Hi, mommy!"

I watch as she gets out the car and grabs her bag out of the back seat and sighs. "Hey, sweetie. Isaac, do I need to talk to your father again?"

"No ma'am, I'll go." I don't realize how my hold on Isaac weakened until he twirls me and wraps both his arms around my front. "I only came to talk to my favorite person in the whole wide world." He sneaks a kiss on my cheek as my mom laughs at his remark and turns to go inside.

I shove him off of me and quickly follow behind my mother, not looking back.

Leaning against the closed door I sigh. I am seriously going to file a restraining order on that boy if he doesn't stop harassing me. First it was him following me around, then peeping through my window at night, and now he's making excessive physical contact!

Taking my shoes off to place them neatly by the door, I hear noises coming from the kitchen, so I decide to go ahead and put away my gym clothes and bag. Oh, how the bed is calling my name. Just as I think about simply dropping down and hitting the sack, I hear my name .

"...so when he told me that Lon-"

"Told you London what?" I glance around the room to see Tiff and Jaz sitting at the island eating fruit.

Tiff is the first to speak. "That um...Michael told me that you...that you ...you um...were talking about Lindsey being a slut..." she trails off.

"Yeah, I said that. Why do you sound so scared to say that? You act as if I'm gonna jump down your throat," I laugh nervously. "Wait, why are you talking to Michael? I thought you hated him."

"I don't anymore. I...I was just being a brat I guess."

"Then maybe you should stop hanging with all those slutty cheerleaders on the squad." I laugh as Jaz chokes on a pineapple.

"Excuse me, I'm sitting right here,"

"Not you, silly."

"Then be more specific, next time, because everyone on the squad isn't a slut," She says will flipping her hair over her shoulder. "That's like saying everyone on the volleyball team has big behinds, when you know goodness well that ain't true."
