"Why were you talking to that Pseudo guy?" Cassandra sat down on a bench with Brienna, taking her bag off her shoulder.

"I think the real question is why not?"

"Uh, cause he's a transfer student." Brienna spoke like it was obvious.

Cassandra rolled her eyes. "Give him a break. He was more interesting to talk to than you." She knew she hit a nerve when she felt a piece of sandwich scrape against her arm.

"Is this a bad time?" Cassandra looked up to see Justin, awkwardly shifting his weight from one leg to another.

"Not at all. I was actually just leaving." Cassandra threw her bag over her shoulder and walked with Justin to a new seat.

"You didn't have to leave your friend. You could-"

"You know, us humans only have so long to spend our time on earth. Take it as a compliment that I'm spending my limited with you."

That made Justin forget about Brienna. He sat on a table, his mind somewhere else.

"You have grey eyes." Cassandra noted.

The sheer oddness of her observation threw Justin into reality. "Oh, yeah. Everyone seems to notice that. My Mum makes contacts and for some reason, decided to give me grey eyes." He shrugged.

"I like them." Cassandra's lip curled up into a smile. "But enough about your eyes. You seem to be off somewhere."

Justin fumbled with his lunch bag, finding the words. The wind hit him in the face, almost trying to wake him up. "Yesterday. You said something about me finding out the truth. What did you mean? The truth about what?"

Cassandra shifted in her seat uncomfortably. She chewed her bottom lip, focusing on Justin. "I guess its up to interpretation."

Justin sat, confused. "You do this sort thing all the time?"

"Hmm, I guess. I can't help it. Sometimes I just know things. I don't know why or how. But I just do."

Justin had hoped that his only friend here wasn't crazy. He decided to change the subject. "Did you finish the practice exam for bio?"

Cassandra shook her head. "I don't really do homework anymore."

"Fair enough. I kind of wish I didn't do it either. All my answers made no sense."

Cassandra laughed to herself. "Yeah, I'm not that good at biology myself."

The shrill ring of the school bell was enough to make Justin cringe. "Is it always that high pitched?"

"Usually."

Justin stood up, tugging at his clothes for warmth. "Well, I'll see you later." He started to walk off.

"Justin?"

He turned to look at the girl with purple streaks in her hair.

"You'll get a C."

Justin received his paper back with a big red C on the top.
