I woke up to a warm arm slipping off my shoulder. Looking up at him I concluded he was still asleep by the way his eyelids were subtlety fluttering, he was dreaming.
I curled back up to him and stayed there a bit longer, not ready to leave. I looked at the clock on the wall, 5:30 was a good time to procrastinate on getting up, and go back to sleep. So that's what I did
************************************
Three hours later I got up, we'll rested and ready to put cloths on and sit on the couch...
Oh my god....
I'm a vegetable.
What has my life lead me to not having a job and spending my days on another person's couch? I've really got to start looking into a job.
"Maybe I'll try that café down the street..." I mumble to myself as I slip out of the sheets. Maybe I'll do so today, while Sherlock is home crabbing about his hangover.
I put on a plain black shirt, a scarf, some comfortable jeans, and I was ready for the day, after I put on the necessities like deodorant and brushed teeth. Half skipping to the kitchen I noticed the door was open,
Did we forget to close it last night?
"Good moring!"
"Bah!!" I scream as I clutched my stopped heart.
"I didn't mean to scare you." John apologized getting up from his chair and placing his tea cup on the side table next to it, "I just came by to-"
"Drink our tea?" I inturupted, leaning against the counter for support, still not quite able to catch my breath.
"Haha funny, no I-"
"Give me a minute to get my heart started." I grumbled, grabbing a chair and sitting down. John politely waited for me to give him the ok to speak again, when I noticed he was holding a card.
"Whats that?" I ask offering him a chair.
"No thank you," He denied it, leaning against the counter, "It's an invitation."
He handed it to me, it was red and green, obviously a christmas party. I opened it up and it read
You're invited to a Christmas party at the Scotland Yard, hosted by Gregg Lestrade. You may bring a plus one. The attire should be classy seeing as I put money into this. Arival time should be 6. An exchange of presents is optional. Hope to see you there.
-Greg
"It was originally to Sherlock however both Greg and I thought you'd be his plus one seeing as you two are kind of a thing now." John laughed, I could tell he couldn't help himself.
"Whats so funny?" I asked in a mockingly menesing voice. He grunted a couple of times to put out the laughter, but couldn't quite knock the smirk off his face.
"Nothing." we sat in silence, staring each other down till we both could help ourselves and started laughing together.
"I don't know if he's a big party person." I cuckled looking back at the invitation.
"Greg said if he's being a cock you can just come instead and meet everyone. Mary is coming, you two can girl chat." He offered.
"It's girl talk not girl chat, and I don't know if I'm such a party person." I expressed, with an apologetic look on my face.
"Come on Jane it will be fun, meet some new people, some you already know, have a couple of drinks." He tried to make it sound inviting, but ended up making it worse. I'm not big on drinking anymore.
