Picture on the side of Makayla's dress.

Makayla

"Miss Ritchel?" Mary, one of my maids spoke from behind my door.
"Mary you can call my Makayla." I smile opening the door. "I've told you, you don't have to call me miss Ritchel."
"I know, sorry miss Ritch- I mean Makayla." She smiles back at me. "I just came up to tell you Jessica is here."
"Thank you Mary." I say and she nods leaving my room once again to bring Jessica, my stylist, up.
"Makayla darling what are you wearing?" Jessica asks in a fake snooty tone pointing at my sweatpants.
"Their Victoria secret darling. All the rage in Paris." I reply back in an equally snooty tone and we both laugh.
"Are you ready for the art Galla tonight? It is in your honor." Jess asks me as she sets up the various makeup kits and hair products she will be using on me.
"It's whatever." I roll my eyes. "Daddy's little angel is bored, daddy's little angel is going through an art phase. She'll get over it."
"Life as a privileged teen is so hard." She mocks me.
"When you have my dad, yeah it is." I retort sitting down in the chair placed in front of the vanity in the right corner of my room farthest away from my door.
After an hour or so of products on my face and in my hair I was allowed to get up, carefully, and slip into my new dress with matching heels. Once the last minute adjustments were made on my dress I walked towards my full length mirror to look myself over before I had to leave.
"Perfect thank you Jess." I turned to face her and kissed both of her cheeks like the rich snobs do in movies.
"Anytime love now get going your already fashionably late and pushing into irritably late." She rushed me out the door to the limo waiting outside for me.

All the art was beautiful. I made my way around the gallery, ignoring the other socialites trying to make conversation, and lightly sipping on some champagne.
I wandered into an empty room as I continued my journey on seeing all the paintings. I stopped to stare at one watercolor painting of a lily in the middle of a pond. It seemed so beautiful but lonely.
"Beautiful is it?" A deep voice said from behind me. I spun around quickly almost falling due to my heels and the amount of champagne I had already consumed.
"Woah woah easy there gorgeous." He chuckled catching me.
"Austin." I rolled my eyes, straightening myself up.
"Awh no need for eye rolling babe." He winked at me. "Just because I took over my dad's business and our parents hated each other doesn't mean we can't be friends."
"Austin your my dad's biggest rival I'm not even sure I'm allowed I the same room as you, not that I would want to be in the same room as an arrogant jerk like you." I scoffed and he have me a mock offended look.
"You know you want me makaykay." He said using his childhood nickname for me.
"Want you? More like want you to leave me the hell alone." I said rolling my eyes and taking another sip of my bubbly drink as I continued to walk around the room.
"You look really hot tonight." He had his hands around my waist from behind me.
"Hey what's going on here?" I hear a deep intimidating voice ask. My father. Austin scurried out of the room as quickly as I could.
"Mahone was in here with you?" He asks, his voice booming around the empty room.
"Yes sir but-" I started but he cut me off.
"No buts Makayla stay away from him. He's bad news."
"I know." I state putting my head down and slowly trudging out of the room.
My father treated me like a little baby since I was his only child, my mom left us when I was only one and all I've had was my dad. I love him but he can be a little over protective at times.
"Limos here to take you home." He states from the other room . I nodded and made my way out the door and into the limo waiting.
