You sighed as you sat at the outside picnic table. The wind yet again tangling their fingers into your hair and pulling this way and that.
You didn't have it in you to be sad, you didn't have it in you to even care at this point.
_flashback_
"We have to break up."
Your head whipped to him and you stared for a second.
"What do you mean?" Your voice trembled.
"It was a mistake to ask you out, I shouldn't have done it." His face expressed how troubled he was but you couldn't understand what was really happening.
"Aster why are you breaking up with me, be honest with me." You didn't mean to but your eyes started to water and your voice was strained with emotion.
He finally looked at you and he started to speak but held back and shook his head.
"I can't keep doing this, I'm sorry but this isn't what I wanted." His right hand came to cover his mouth like he couldn't just believe he spoke those words.
It was then the tears fell and you couldn't stop them so you looked away. You stared at your lap.
_end flashback_
He didn't even bring you to school instead he kicked you out the car and drove off.
You had went back inside sobbing, your mother was obviously worried and she held you and said you didn't have to go to school today but you shook your head and went anyway.
Sitting at this table you probably should have just stayed home. You felt empty, you didn't expect to be broken up with right after having that dream.
You didn't expect to be broken up with at all.
Your eyes were red and slightly swollen and the cool wind helped a bit.
You were in your own world and didn't hear when footsteps approached you.
"Why are you out here alone?" The question could have been mistaken for friendly but the tone was condescending.
You jumped and turned away in a hurry and your eyes landed on the new Jack.
He stared at you and you him before he took a couple steps closer.
"Why are you out here alone?" He asked again the time different, blank now.
"I just need some space," you sniffled a little and turned back around.
"Class starts soon," he said it softly and for a second it reminded you of old Jack.
"I know," you didn't know why but the tears burst forward again and dropped down your cheeks.
It was as he sensed it and he clicked his tongue.
"You really like him that much?" You couldn't place the time but you felt like you hurt him.
You just meekly shook your head and stared down at your hands. This time you heard his steps come closer, you felt a chill waft up your back at just his presence.
It was then you realized he knew of your break up. How?
Before you could think further his fingers were tangled in your hair and had pulled it back.
"Why can't you love me?" His eyes were the lighter blue you had grown to know. They always had a wet sheen over them and you could see the tears start.
Before you could say anything else he let you go and left.
You turned around and watched as his back disappeared.
